Hi guys! See my intro post here...
So just to give a little bit of detail, purchased a 2008 GT Speed w/ 60k miles on it. 1 owner, clean car fax, good service history. I'm east coast, they were west coast. Not my first rodeo with cars like this owning several Porsches in the past and PPI's were always a must. Well late last month I was having issues getting the local Bentley dealer to call me back and the dealer I was buying the Bentley from (a reputable dealer, just not a Bentley dealer) was obviously getting antsy as end of month was coming. I told him the PPI was a must unless they wanted to get crazy aggressive off their already pretty aggressive price (best price in the country at that point). Anyways, long story short, I ended up buying the car w/out PPI and getting them to knock $5500 off of our already negotiated price point. Car is en route to me now, but what do you guys think? I'm obviously taking a huge risk, but I'm a numbers guy and even if there's like 25% change of the car needing a $10k repair, statistically speaking I made the right call.
Again, the dealer is very reputable (Mercedes dealer, goes through the car, etc).
