Wear on Mulliner shift ****. How to fix?

My bentley CGT shift **** has the chrome or silver plate wearing off. See pics. Any idea how to best get this fixed or reconditioned?

Are you sure thats not just muck and dirt? Try a toothbrush and a small amount of soapy water.

That would be embarrassing (and delightfully easy to fix). Will try and report back if so.

There was something I read once, that all the knurling and diamante cross cutting in the car was done so that no matter what angle you look at them they always look even?
