Split rim bolts

Split rim bolts
Hi guys ,
I developed a vibration NSF ( UK car ) kinda clicking .
Only a few days old after a long 800 mile run on winter tyres .
Today went to the tyre shop to have the summers standard PIrelli Zeros put on and the fitter noticed with the NSF that the rim was loose, the bolts has worked loose .
You could here it rattle when the tyre was dropped my hand and bounced ,
They found a 12 sided star socket and gave it me to tighten up - not wanting any liability etc .
Internet says 25/27 lb / ft .
prob solved .
The fitter suggest new bolts as he says they stretch and are a once fit only part .
Should be put back with thread lock 243 .
i ve sourced a supply but what’s are the size .
seem to be a BBS 24.5 mm for Bentley Continental.
The rims are the 19 “ Muliner “
whats the regime re preventing others loosening up ?
Do folks actually check them up - breaking the loctite seal ?
What does everybody else do with split rim maintenance ?

I rebuilt all four of my 20" two-piece Bentley rims five years ago. The bolts are BBS Titanium M7 x 1.00 bolts. 22mm in length. The torque spec is 18 lbs. They came with blue Loctite applied to the thread. I purchased these bolts from Black Forest Industries, but I just checked and they are discontinued but they may still be able to help you. When you are removing or replacing these bolts, be VERY careful not to break them. Over-torqueing will break the shaft and you'll have to drill out the broken bolt shaft and put in a heli-coil. Bentley will not sell the bolts as they wish to avoid any liabilities resulting from poor field installation. Make sure you deal with someone who really knows what they are doing as your very life depends upon the quality of work. IMHO I don't think you should ever re-use old Titanium bolts.
