Key crazy (2004 or 2005 BGT)
Tried to order a new key from Scaderia. The prices were reasonable. They apologized, but cannot sell keys because Bentley will not allow it, only through an authorized dealership at retail. They listed a single key for $360 and a master key kit ,which is two keys for $460, that was a deal. Flying Spares could not supply keys either.
People are selling pre-programmed keys on eBay for alot of money. These Keys cannot be reprogrammed to a different car other than their original programming.
One of our Forum posters suggested a possibility that 2004 and 2005 key fobs could be overwritten and re-adapted to a different car. I would be interested if someone has had experience re- adapting one of the early Volkswagen style keys. Obviously the vehicle would have to be 2004 or 2005. Does anyone know which immobilization version 2004 and 2005 Bentley Continental GT utilize.

I will try to answer my own question. My hopes are that someone proves me wrong.
The immobilization systems on modern Volkswagens including Bentley, have different immobilizer versions depending on year. In 2002 Volkswagen graduated the immobilization system from version 2 to version 3. Version 3 came with a secret key code of four digits. Version 3 will not support a rewrite or recode of a previously programmed key fob (immobilization version 2 could be overwritten). If correct then overwriteing Bentley GT keys is impossible . Buying a used key online is only for the purpose of upgrading the appearance of old key fobs, by swapping out the innards.
