Bentley FS body vibrations on acceleration
#2
My Car just started this I think it the cv Axle. Make you think its the transmission but it shifts perfectly and if put in netural it goes away. check inner cv joint (towards the engine) BTW how many mines do you have?

I replaced both cv axles left and right side and still no
change it drives smooth after that initial acceleration. My right axle was bad the left was good but I just replaced both sides. Feels like a drive shaft joint or something.

How many miles on your car? Did you use OEM cv axle ? I checked my right axle has alot of play up and down. so im going to replace, was told to stay away from cheap ones as they are problematic. Please keep us all informed of your finding.

I have 133,000 on my Flying Spur speed I replaced both front axle and still have vibrations. Ive got and appointment with Bentley on Tuesday March 5th. I’m thinking it might be my drive shaft as the vibrations move front to back to back to front I hear and feel tapping noise in my gear shifter ****.

That maybe my issue as well im at 118k now, I have to change to axles now so i hope thats my issue. Have you tried putting car in netural to see if vibration goes away? On my car it goes away and on light accelateration its barely noticable but if i hit it you can feel it and hear it.

My vibration go’s away in neutral and when I drive nicely you can barely feel it, when I hit the gas hard I feel and hear it loud! What model do you have? Im thinking it’s the drive shaft because I replaced both axles (RMT) only my passenger side had play. Bentley is picking my car up on Tuesday.

update
Update!!! The Bentley dealer said its was my passenger side lower control arm. When I step on the gas really hard the inner arm bangs against my subframe and sends the vibration threw the body of the car and gives the banging I hear. I need both lower forward control arms & I also need a sway bar and sway bar links I was getting a squeaking sound when I go over bumps at slow speeds. My total bill is $3400 parts & labor it includes a wheel alignment which is expensive for my car because I have active cruise control. I will update you once I get my car back.

Hello Bentley45,
I am sorry but, I just have to say that $3400 is outright BS, sorry but that just irks me, you can buy all 8 OEM Front end pieces from Flying Spares for around $1200 USD, or just the lower fronts as shown in your picture for $336.00ea. from Scuderia, or a 10 piece bushing kit for $450ish, the sway bar links are about $75.00 ea., as far as the adaptive cruise costing more for alignment, again, wrong, if the ACC is in working order and the alignment brings the suspension back into factory specs, then all should work as it should, you would only align the ACC if the ACC radar head had got knocked out of alignment, I went through all this with my A8L W12 with ACC.

+1 100 agree with Johnny. I just purchased all 8 control arms from Rock Auto for $864 off a thread another poster posted on here and installed the top 4 myself. Returned the lower 4 because all my bushings were ok.

You guys are 100% correct, that’s why I’m having my car picked up on Monday. I already told the service advisor to cancel the job at Bentley. I appreciate your advice.
