steve.2.lowe is infamous around these parts
Shouldn't make any difference to the delta between shafts but might confuse someone in the future.

Here’s the correct readings.
Sorry for the incorrect info.

I’ll delete the other thread.

Honestly was super displeased with RMT trying to sell parts as oem replacements that aren’t actually oem replacements.
In their misrepresented vernacular they are "OEM replacements" for (Volkswagen and Audi non-turbo W12's). They took mine back without any hassle, including return postage .Purchased through eBay, they didn't want a bad review.

The inconvenience stretched out the repair time. However, that's the Bentley story; always takes longer and is more complicated than anticipated.

As I’m not comfortable with RMT basically lying to me that this is an OEM part, I’m going to start the return process tomorrow. I also wanted to start the job tomorrow before going to work so I wanted to know if anyone knew if there is a cross reference for the boot kit to Audi/VW? It’s a dealer close by and instead of waiting on delivery from Flying Spares, I’ll just bit the bullet and try to get it from them.

Your best bet is go online look up Audi A8 Quattro W12. Get the part number. Take that part number to the dealer bring your axle and see if it'll work. Remember the inner diameter of the rubber boots will be a little smaller than the Bentley boot kit. You will also have to get CV axle Grease. That comes in little plastic pouches that you cut a hole in it and squeeze into the boot. This part of the project is messy.

The other vehicle with a similar axle shaft is the VW Phaeton W12.

That's what I would do.

lol I just bought 2 from Scuderia today and they only had one in the states and the other is on order. Ironically I called one of the 2 Bentley dealers in my area in a 160 mile radius) and the parts dept of one was open. She told me that she could get one from the warehouse and the other was overseas but she couldn’t beat the price I told her Scuderia had them for. She quoted me $800+!!! She even looked it up 🤣

This is the half inch drive standard 6 point 19mm allen head. This is used to remove the axle nut holding the front CV shaft into the front unit wheel bearing.

Does anyone know if I can install CV axles from a VW Phaeton or Audi A8 in my Bentley?

Quick question.....did you read the entire thread? There are a few on here on this one topic...on post 17...I showed you what the difference is in a Bentley axle and a Audi one. We need that little “extra” because our cars are twin turbo. That’s one of the parts I wouldn’t (that’s just me) skimp out on to save a buck.
