Bentley GT 2006,Speaker wiring colour codes, Head unit upgrade & Amps
Morning Everyone ...
Every job has a plan and here's mine, Ive changed the head unit for an Alpine INE-W710D which more or less dose everything.
Now to the next phase ... A Field Control System, 2 new amps, a (5 Channel) and a (4 Channel) the stock amp will stay in place as this feeds the sounds for the parking sensors and what ever else it feeds. what it won't feed is the sound from the Head Unit to the new amps, the sound from the head unit will be fed to the new amps vis a field control system by RCA cables.
What I intend to do is to solder each speaker cable from the new amps to each speaker cable on the original out going loom from the stock amp.
The Sub is separate from the stock amp no need to worry about that.
At the moment the car has a 10 speaker layout
Change all the speakers and install a pair of Twitters and a pair of Crossover drivers to drive the rear Speakers and Twitters and a sub in the boot.
WILL IT WORK my only concern is soldering the cables from the new amps to the stock outgoing cables to each speaker, will it interfere with the stock amp.
Gives me your thoughts guys ... Here is a simple drawing ...

Let me make sure I’m reading this right. Your going to solder the OUTPUT of the 4 and 5 ch amp to the OUTPUT of the stock amp?
Not going to work if that’s the case. Distortion will not play nice with your speakers. That sound field doesn’t have a high to low converter in it?

Sorry TeamJones was a bit busy, now Im free let me elaborate on this, I plan to solder each channel from the new amps to each channel on the stock amp. where crossovers are needed these will be installed. As I know the stock amp also acts as a crossover.
I don't see why this shouldn't work Im eliminating the stock amp from any sound coming from the head unit. the only sound the stock amp will process is the parking sensors.
Any thoughts on this ...

Are you leaving the INPUT of the amp connected? Or are you disconnecting it and just splicing into the output wires of the factory amp to get sound to your speakers from the aftermarket amps?

Yes correct Im leaving the out going plug in the stock amp, and rightly said splicing into each outgoing speaker cable to connect the new amps per each channel ...
Im sure Johnny will give me his expert opinion ...

Edit
Ok. The way I’m looking at how your saying you want to run this, you will have volume(wattage) coming from the stock amp(so you can keep the warning beeps etc) and volume coming from the aftermarket amps going to the same speakers at the same time. So all 3 amps will be providing sound to the same speakers at the same time correct?
I will ask you to look at the BEN HUR booklet again. (I may b mistaken) But I think it has RCA’s on it where in you can use those to connect aftermarket amps too and still maintain the cars collision sensors. I’ll have to look for my book when I get time to verify but I think that was one of the features of it.
