Bentley GTC Overhead Interior Lights

Bentley GTC Overhead Interior Lights
Hi hopefully someone can assist me with an issue on my 2013 Bentley GTC. When opening the drivers or passenger door the overhead interior lights do not come on. The overhead switch is in the right position to illuminate when opening the doors. But once the ignition is turned on the over head lights come on and go off once either door has been closed. We scanned the car and shows no faults. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your response Rico. The switch does not get brighter until I turn on the ignition and then the interior lights go on.
Without the ignition on the switch is non functional and the interior lights do not come on. With the ignition on the switch functions properly. When I switch the right or left side map lights on with the ignition off they function properly. The red lights on the edge of the door panels and the mirror puddle lights also light up when I open either door with the ignition off. Any other suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks Rick

Thank you for that, if Im seeing this right with the engine running & the doors closed the switch light is illuminated & with the engine off the switch is not illuminating ...
If this is the case then its showing the switch is in the on position & then should turn on the curtercy light on when the door/s are opened, but you say this is not happening, right back to the drawing board as they say, let me look into this ...

Are you able to remove the panel ... Im not 100% sure on the GTC how it comes off but from the pics it may be the same way as the GT, you going to have to remove the 2 black circles that look like speakers, one a mic for the phone & the other is a dummy, there are to bolts (torque) remove them and slide the panel forwards towards the screen, then you going to need a circuit tester to test the power going into the switch & out ...
If I have any pics I'll post them for you ... if not then I'll remove mine tomorrow all being well take some pics what to test & post them ...

Rico I have to wait for my Bentley tech to do that. Hopefully I am able to buy the switch separately if found defective. It must have two
different circuits one with ignition on and one with the ignition off. Maybe the interior lights off timer burned out and not allowing the lights to come on without the ignition on.

If the switch is not available separate then look for a unit (panel) on-line plenty around then get your chap to swop the bits over so you can use your own
panel ...

Doesn't surprise me Rick, look for a unit on-line ie ebay you can find one for a couple of hundred dollars, what year is your GTC I'll see if I can locate one, even if its a different colour your chap can change the inner module over ...
