That is true to an extent. However, if a "small issue" like the starter goes, the engine must be removed to replace it. There are other similar things that in and of themselves would be benign for most vehicles, but for us are high dollar due to the labor costs.

You would be mad for NOT doing the ..following which your warranty Co would refute .
vac pipes in metal
replacing the PAS pipes all three ..l.they corrode and leak
changing the alternator O ring ..l.,they leak
poly belt + idler
checking and replacing the radiator...it corrodes
turbo solinoids ....all of them
Consider additional on reassembly doing the front upper control arms .Toss in a couple of Lamba sensors .Change all the front light bulbs while it’s easy to open them up now the fronts dismantled.Think about a gear box change as well ? Again while it’s a doodle so to speak .
Need to establish why the starter motor packed in ? If it turns out a KESSY issued from a wet passinger floor box via blocked scuttle drain or air con drip tray then theses need un blocking .
So for me I would save the warranty fee put it in a war chest , because I think if it were an engine out job or front of car off there’s so much “super discretionary spending “ to be done in a 7/ 10 year old +++ or older car with an engine out job .The warranty Co will not cover .
