air suspension went bananas
The other day ago, out of the blue, the air suspension on my 2007 GT went bananas. I was just driving down the highway when for no seeming reason over a minute's time or so, the rear dropped... and then a red warning on the DIC let me know there was a fault with the air suspension. Fortunately was I just a few blocks from home... so I babied it back. I figured one of the rear shocks had given-up... rather suddenly... even though all 4 shocks had been fine up till this point. A couple days later I needed to move the vehicle just a bit, however when I started it, the rear pumped-up fine... except it over-pumped the rear shocks, likely to the limit of their height. I moved the vehicle, and tried to reset the height to "normal" via the rotary **** on the infotainment unit. The DIC said "adjustment not possible". So I shut it off. A week or so later all the shocks were right where they'd been left for height... no leaks. I started the vehicle and the rear shocks stayed at max, but the front shocks lowered all the way down... so I shut it off. A day or two later I started the vehicle, the front shocks aired up to normal, and the back shocks dropped to the bottom. Today I started it again, and the rear shocks aired to the top and dropped the front shocks to the bottom.
Rather puzzling. Any thoughts on where to start to sort things out?

If vcds scanner is available try address 34 level control select output tests. This will cycle a variety of functions of the air suspension system and indicate pass or fail on each test. While looking at address 34 also check the for fault codes.
Attached is way too much information but interesting reading how the system works.

We know these cars & the battery problems no need to get the ross tech out every time the car sneezes ...

Vcds and VAS has saved me a lot of time. So I don't go bananas chasing ghosts. Good to keep an eye on the batteries and hopefully that is the issue. Another positive on the vcds is to clear superfluous codes. Everyone has their own opinions I'm sticking to mine, ( until further notice). 😉

Absolutely true. My tendency is to use it because it's there. Agreed better than watching TV, scan the car.

Thanks to all for the replies. I have the VAGS (sp?) diagnosis system... I'll plug it in and see what. I also have the vehicle on a good charger to top-off the batteries... they may have been a bit low as I've mostly been just driving the car "around town"... it's about 10 blocks from one end of our town to the other... I mostly just go get the mail "downtown at the PO"/ 6 blocks away... on nice days.
Also... my car projects are currently a bit on hold as I'm pushing to get a two post lift installed in my shop... so rather than dividing my attention... I'm attempting to self discipline to hold off on projects that could be better suited to the project being up on a hoist... which I'm really looking forward to.

Not a company I would use again. Too many bad reviews AND I had my own bad experience with them. Never buy axels from them because they will send you VW or Audi ones. Smaller then the ones we need. And they don’t like to refund you your money after you get a RMA and return the parts. Myself and a few others posted about them here.

Because they might be burnt up here in the US 😂 but seriously I’ll say use at your own risk. To anyone that buys from them.

No i don't need anything from them, I was just asking due to seeing there add on ebay. Why buy from all the way in the US when there are plenty here in the UK ...
