Bentley Phone?

Hello Sspeeder,
Can you post some pictures of the old BT module, did the old unit have 2 plugs, and did you follow the instruction as to leaving IIRC the left side plug disconnected ?
Johnny.

Hi Johnny
Thanks for your help.
Yes the old module had 2 plugs.
At first I connected both and tried. Then I disconnected the left one (red) and tried again, still no luck.
Here a pic. of the old module.
Thanks for your help.

Did you clear the fault code after you removed the red plug ?
Also, what does the infotainment screen show when you press phone ?
Does it ask you to pair it ?
Here are the fitting instructions.

Yes, I clear the codes everytime I tried the different combinations.
When I press the PHONE button I get the same message everytime:
"No SIM installed"
it is a dead end? Or is there still hope?
Thanks again

Thanks Rico for your optimism.
Yes I have looked at that thread. However the instructions given are for a different module (JNV035394) and the one I now have is the 3W0 035 385 AT which is from 2009GT.

As far as the instructions, what you have posted and what I have posted, are one in the same, I took my link from Flying Spares, the "JNV" number is just their kit number, and I do not think there will anything in the book, as Sspeeder is dealing with an 05 GT, I will be back with a thought in a few after Sspeeder answers my last question.

Hello Sspeeder,
I am thinking by the "006 short to plus" that you should show us a picture of your left and right armrests insides, and if you has any Nokia or privacy handset in either, you should remove them and test, I may even go as far as to say to remove the rear center console wood trim and or front also and unplug both plugs feeding each armrest, as you have an 05 you may have issue with the armrest inserts, I am not sure at the moment as to weather or not the BT module itself feeds BT over the air itself, or does it send a signal to either armrest, so what I plan to do is to make a video of me pairing some phones, but then also unplug both armrest or one at a time to see if said phones would pair without the armrests plugged in, or if the purple at the BT module in the boot has any involvement in the BT pairing, remember my vehicle is a 2005 with a complete 2006 wiring harness front to back, but being you have both plugs at the BT module I don't see an issue except for the armrest maybe, now when I first did mine I use a 2007 BT module and it was all plug and play, but My S7 galaxy at the time would not stay connected, so I installed this 2010 AT unit and the S7 worked, but then I upgraded both armrest to add the newest for 2010 privacy phone for the right side armrest, and then the stand alone SIM card slot in the left side armrest, the left side was plug and play, tested with low cost SIM and placed calls, all good, the right side armrest however needed 1 wire relocated in its plug to charge the privacy handset, that was all.
So , as I can not recall right now as to if the cellphones paired without the armrests installed, I am going to test that theory in the morning or Sunday, and video it, as part of the upgrade for the newer BT module was to loose the 2006-2007 left hand armrest insert, meaning that the screen and dial no longer functioned, that's why the instruction state to tape up the second plug, although and not to add more confusion to this situation, I now use both plugs on the AT BT module as I add both 2009-10 armrest inserts.....
You most likely have the red armrest inserts, the dial with screen in the brown armrest was the 2006-07 phone system, that got disconnected with the BT module upgrade install, which I thought was pretty messed up, just leave a dead piece in the armrest, yes, Bentley said.

I am sorry for being a pain. I thank you so much for the time and dedication you devote to this amazing forum. Of course I will wait until you have time, this is surely not an urgent issue.
Meanwhile I reconnect the Ross Tech now with the left plug not connected to the module and this is what I get.
I have also tried removing both the privacy phone and the handset from their correspondent cradles and still I get the same message on the screen.
Thanks again for your effort.

The brown ones are 2006-07, with the left being the screen, ****, and SIM card slot, with the right side being blank (no wiring), with said update that Bentley sold, they said to tape the red plug to the side, that red plug leaves the 2006-07 left screen, ****, and SIM card slot dead.
Now with both newer 2010 left and right armrest inserts that I installed I now use both plugs (red also) on the AT BT module, and all works as it should.
What I want to figure out is if you need the armrest inserts at all, I want to see what makes your BT cellphone connect to what in the car.
If you need the add the inserts and change a wire or two, I would walk you though it with pictures of course.
