Bentley Phone?

As far as the storage location, it resides in the right hand center armrest handset cradle as pictured
If for any reason the handset has gone dead and or has lost its Initialization follow the instructions pictured, also note the charging is only available with the ignition on.
Johnny.

You can put a separate SIM card in the left armrest and the handset becomes a cellphone, or once you pair your every day cellphone to the vehicle the handset is a "Bentley" phone for your passengers to use, or you ofcourse when you are not in motion.

OK, so the Bentley phone becomes a hotspot, or my personal phone does?
Do you use your Bentley phone, Johnny?
Still not sure what the function/concept of the 'Bentley phone' is all about.

I,am following this with interest as I,am a complete numpty when it’s comes to tech .
My car came with the privacy thing but no Nokia handset .
I did buy a 2 nd hand one on EBay of what I thought would work but it did not fit the tray .
So assuming a ( old phone ) that fits the tray can be sourced and a fresh SIM card .....is if possible using that number for calls to come through on the screen and the steering wheel buttons be used ?
Then because it’s a different number to your proper mobile , have some sort of call redirect feature ( if such a thing exist ) enabled so calls come through the car .?
2nd Q ....How’s that “privacy handset “ work in a small cabin .....I mean won’t everybody in the car be able to listen to the operator speaking anyhow ?

Where is the sim slot ( 2004 MY ) ?
and .... does that Privacy thing need a sim ? If so then I don’t need a hand set to fit into the other armrest ?
Sorry if I sound a bit thick with this .....?

Rico's picture is of his 2006 phone/sim card setup.
The 2004 nor the 2005 had this setup, at least not on this side of the pond, the 04 and as did my 2005 GT came with an actual Nokia cellphone in the left center armrest, and the very simple privacy phone as shown in the pictures below, also there was no SIM card slot in my vehicle (2005), the 2007 setup that I originally swapped over from the parts vehicle is as Rico pictured with said sim card slot, but the old 2007 bluetooth module would not pair with my Galaxy S7 properly, it would make calls for a second and drop, so I updated everything from the infotainment head unit, BT module, both armrests inserts, etc, all that information is in my rebuild thread.

I've been saying this for months that the new cell phones will not be compatible with the old bluetooth firmware unless one upgrades to an aftermarket adaptor or go the full hogg & change the lot
I had no idea the 04 & 05 didn't have a sim slot no wonder J couldn't find it ... Opps ...

Just so I may make my above comment clearer, as I forgot to include something, the 2006 or 2007 Bluetooth would not pair correctly with my Galaxy S7 Edge, but the 2010 BT module does now pair with my new Samsung Galaxy S10 5g perfectly, the updated privacy phone (with screen and dial buttons) also pairs with the phone via bluetooth, everything works as it should, I even ordered a cheap Sim card for testing, and it worked, the vehicle can have it's own phone number and also pair with other phones that will all store phonebook, texts, ect. On the infotainment head unit, the right hand armrest privacy phone, my Vertu phone, and ofcourse my s10 5g.
So when I press phone on the infotainment system I can choose which phone to connect the system to, so far I have 4 on the list.

So,
If they wanted them to be compatible for the 06 to some early 08's, then they would swap out the Bluetooth module located in the boot/trunk on the left side of the module shelf to a "3W0 035 385 AT" from vehicles from late 08 through 2010, with hardware version "HW0008" and software version "SW0264" with a manufacturer date of 2008-08-26 or newer.
I can confirm that this module as I listed above works with the newest Verizon Samsung Galaxy S10 5G phone to its full potential.
And I picked up said module off e bay for $140USD.

John ... Coming back to your question & appaloosas on my wrong answer re the sim card slot for your car.
There is a way to use 2 sims (numbers) on one bluetooth connection, the easiest way is to connect a Grom Audio BT3 bluetooth car kit, then connect a mobile phone to it & leave that in the glovebox with a live sim. Then with your mobile phone you use daily divert your calls to the mobile phone in the glovebox, now you will receive calls from either number on one bluetooth device simultaneously ...

Got some good suggestions appreciated.

Hi
Still on the subject. I have a 2005 GT and I have also swapped the original phone module to the newer 3W0 035 385 AT. However I cannot make this to operate with any phone.
Bluetooth signal is simply not seen in any phone.
I plugged in the Ross Tech VCDS to find out why, and the module threw this fault code.
Any ideas?
