Boot Issue - Bonnet Issue - Battery Issue

Some weeks ago my power boot stopped opening on my Bentley GT. It would unlatch without opening and then self Close.
Short time there after, (although I had never opened the bonnet) the bonnet light came on, and would not go out
Now I have a flat battery😬

its an occasional Car and thus can go 2 or 3 weeks without use.

i have decided I need a Battery conditioner / Charger and have decided on a C Tek, does any one know which one? There is reference to the MSX 5 and the MSX 7.

The Battery was replaced in 2018 so not long ago, do you think all my problems are battery related, or could I be in for a new bill. Mine is a low mileage 2007

First you gonna need to open the boot to access the bat (s) .Have you tried the anti clockwise turn of the key trick ? There are two bats a small starter and bigger “ house / domestic “ which runs the car .
If the bigger ( LHS) in the boot is knackered or low ....say less than 11.7 V then all sorts of spurious random faults / light etc occur .

So assuming the faults are still there after that battery and the starter bat are healthy either by charge or replacement .
Boot motors in Bentley are notoriously unreliable up to the point dealers can’t hold of the parts such is the replacement demand , sometimes it’s just an easy realignment.Theres plenty of threads on here do a search .Ideally the motor if possible needs to be removed and in effect the option deleted Like pre 06 or what ever .Its a chocolate tea pot .After a decade or more Bentley finally modded the mechanism but I,am not sure how retrofittabke the newer mechanism is into older cars .As said if possibe revert back to a none power boot .....if you can ?

Bat conditioner is obligatory, they came with one when new ..,,again do a search .Any is better than nothing .

Bonnet ah see here. .....to get a flavour of where you are going .Your bat drain might be connected due to the bonnet switch module feeding into the alarm system , a faulty bonnet micro switch mechanism draining the domestic bat down .?? Complicated but DIY doable - Again as per other fixes afraid disable it for an easy life .https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-stuck-gt.html

Darren , You don't state the year of manufacture for your GT.

I have a 2008 model and use a Bentley battery conditioner which connects into a socket in the boot.

Later models had a magnetic attachment for the charger on the front bumper.

Any charger connected to the socket will only charge the main battery in the left hand side of the boot. It will not charge the starting battery on the right hand side , so in addition I have hard wired in a C Tek charger ( MXS 5 model ) for the starter battery.

This may interest you.
