2010 Supersports Active Spoiler
I know that these can have a lot of trouble with motors & general articulation. That said, hoping to get some guidance on the way its supposed to work.
Mine doesn't seem to want to go up at that 70mph speed. Had to push it considerably higher, and then it doesnt want to stay up. Not sure if its based on time our speed. But I was going about 67 when it dropped down. I didn't think that it was speed based because I was traveling at that speed for about 30 seconds before it dropped.
Is it programmable from the VAG-COM settings? I see that some have replaced the motors during failure with the VW part that has a higher speed control - I think that I read 90mph...seems kind of useless at that point. I have a couple of other items that I would like to tweak with the SW programming (like a chirp during lock/unlock) just hoping to hear that this is programmable too.
Thanks in advance!

there seems to be a bunch of knowledge on this site, and even though it's the holiday season posts are somewhat active. Am I doing something wrong - lots of views but no input?
According to the feedback that I have searched the triggers are wrong - way too high. Hoping to get advice from the experts out there to solve the problem.
Wondering if its programming or an incorrect motor replacement (looks like there is a VW version with much higher triggers). The car is a 2010 Supersports with 15K miles - it was serviced at a Bentley dealership during its lifespan...and its like it just rolled off the showroom floor - would be surprising to me if the previous owner opted for the VW part.

and does it retract at 67? If so, that's the same as mine.
That said, I have a 2010 Supersports and the specs that Im reading show it as being re-profiled from the standard GT and going up at 50mph/80kmh.

Actually I don't know what speed it retracts at - I always put it down manually when it comes up....

04 GT .
67 up .Stays up when slowing to 50 for a while say ( guess 10 mins ) .
Dont know the exact down speed retracts exiting motorway slip roads as I slow .....always below 40 .
I think the ECU is located in the motor drive unit itself and there will be a speed controller somewhere .Again in in a black box somewhere.
Theres serial numbers on the rear spoiler motor housing / ECU .
So my guess although ANY form the VAG parts bit with the correct mounts ( inc VW Beetle GT ) will fit in the trunk position it’s the ECU bit that has a hard up / down code written in .
As an aside a wire in the LHS umbilical fractured into mine it would not go up , it’s a common fault and easy fix .All I want to say while running at speed say over 67 it did notice more rear end float with the spoiler retracted .....in fact quite missed it at 80 on French autoroutes.
So it’s not just for fancy I can feel the extra downforce at these minus another 100 to go speeds . Must be real floaty at 150 in Germany? With no spoiler .
The suspension auto lowers too at speed ....not sure how fast but I have seen it .Thats a common feature with air suspension set ups .

So what I have learned:
- regular GTs have much higher triggers for up (92mph) and down (67mph)
- the motor for the wing is used EVERYWHERE - from other models like VW for the wing motion to sunroof motor functions.
- for all applications it has the same product code: 1C0 959 733
- for each application the model number has an alpha nomenclature
- the ECM Management for speed control is built into the motor.
- the Supersports part is 1C0 959 733 H
- the 1C0 959 733 E is spec'd for the VW Beetle Roof Active Spoiler. Its hard coded to raise and lower at the same speed triggers as the Supersports but the part is $200 rather than $450
- the VW part is compatible with 2003 to 2011 Continental GTs and because the triggers are built in it would convert them to the lower 50mph trigger speed too

good info. Mine has been acting up as of late and may need to replace. Did you replace yours? If so was it a difficult project?
