Ben Hur firmware help?
One of the really nice guys on here has the new Ben Hur firmware and offered it to me, I can't find the thread now, I'm hoping he'll see it. I'm going to take my car into the stereo shop (again) but this time it's to upgrade the subwoofer, 8" simply isn't enough, I've already blown it and it pops, I'm going to put a 10" or 12" in.
While I'm there, I'm going to have them pull the Ben Hur head and flash the firmware, but I need the code first. Can anyone help?

HI Rico, was it you that had the firmware? I think it was.
I would love a copy of it and instructions on how to install, I'll have the shop do it when I bring it in for the speaker.
The shop just quoted me on upgrading from an 8" to a 10" with the same amp. I think I've burned my coil on the 8", but it could be the amp. It just has sharp "pop" sounds when I have it turned up too much. I am not planning on taking their estimate, I think I need to go to a full 12" and a bigger amp, not just a larger speaker.
Am I correct that "pop" sounds are burned speaker coils?
How have you been?

When they did your system the first time, do you know if they calibrated it? That would be the initial final step to installing a amp and speakers in my opinion. Ask them if they do and if they do what do they use (like in a around and about way ). See if they use a RTA, oscilloscope or something like a DD1+/CC1 from SMD. That “pop” could be from the amp being up a tad bit high and the filters on it(if it has any) not set correctly. If no filters on the amp then the last thing is to adjust the EQ on the head unit. (Turn off bass boost, turn the bass freq of the eq down a notch or two etc). Just a few suggestions.
