I'm glad too! I wasn't looking forward to getting that lock unit out and cutting out the microswitches...

It is possible that the fault is just intermittant but I will keep an eye on it. It's also possible it was a fault caused by water ingress. When I got the car it rained for weeks on end, now, while in lock down, we have had very unusually for the UK, glorious weather for weeks on end. Everything is bone dry.

Have an 05 GT (also here in the UK) with this exact same issue. Can you confirm whether or not this fix has held up or has the issue returned?

Thanks in advance,
Jason

Hi Jason,

Still working 100%. Auto close and windows are behaving perfectly.

I'm putting it down to the cable that was pulled really tight. It went from the latch unit to the door closer motor.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for the reply. I’ve suggested your solution to the specialist in the garage and so they’re going to take a look whilst the car’s in with them. I’m told they’ve seen it before on VW’s but this is a first on a Bentley.

If I’m being honest with myself mines definitely playing up a bit worse than yours (looking at your video) whereas mine is shuffling/jigging almost constantly when the passenger door is open, but not whilst it’s closed however.

Hopefully it can be sorted, will update when I find out more. Many thanks.

Jason

Check the status of the latch switches. Mine showed short to ground.
