Window jiggling shuffling?

Window jiggling shuffling?
I have noticed that the drivers side window is doing a bit of suffling up and down slightly after closing the door. I assume it's having trouble sensing the fully up position?
Does it just need re-synchronsing or somthing or do I need to dig deeper?
This is on an 09 GT.

I suggest initializing both the door window and the passenger window. The window initialization process is well described in the operator's manual, but as I recall, key to 'on' but not engine running, do the door window first... fully down & hold the window button for a few seconds, then fully up again holding the window button for a few seconds in the max up position... then repeat the procedure with the same side passenger window.

Checked my manual, it says to hold the switch up for more than 1 second after the window has reached the top and then repeat 2 more times.
I have done this and will see if it behaves.
I did notice that the window stays put when the car is locked. I did wonder if if the window was getting door opening signals as I may have had the key on me. I guess it shouldn't do anything until I touch the door handle though. At one point today, I could hear the window moving itself about, ages after I'd got out of the car... very odd.
Might check the consition of the KESSY unit, just in case it has damp in it.

Interesting. So both sides (driver and passenger) shuffle? And if-so, do they shuffle concurrently? If I understand correctly, you're a recent purchaser of the vehicle (so you likely don't know the history of this problem), correct?
I'm thinking it might be a long shot, but maybe there's a moisture related electrical issue. Regardless: I believe you've mentioned "if it stops raining" concerning your AMG battery change. With that, I'll ask: is the vehicle outside in the elements? With a "pre-owned car", you likely don't know what-all... and there's a bit of a laundry list of maintenance items particular to these vehicles that may or may not have been attended to in the past.... for one, and specifically: cleaning drains and related... like under the cowling located just under the hood between the engine and windshield... which involves very carefully removing that cowling and likely giving it a good cleaning and insure that the drains are clear (I believe there's some posts on this forum relative to this). If you haven't verified this maintenance detail... it likely should be done anyway regardless whether it realizes to be related to the window shuffle problem.

Yes, owned the car a few days. Only the drivers side does it, but then the drivers side gets most use. There is a decent history with the vehicle but no signs of this issue in the paperwork.
I have also noticed that the auto shut of the door isn't working on the drivers side. Might be a clue.
I am in the process of drain checking, but wind/rain is preventing that. Getting the wipers off has been tricky too. Obviously not been taken off in a long time.
No evidence of damp in the car. no misting of windows inside etc. I will get the carpets up and check though. I guess the KESSY unit might be responisible for this? Or is there another module looking after doors and windows?
Battery is now good. So its not battery voltage related.
Not sure if VCDS can help diagnose window issues.
It's not a big problem but it is annoying!
EDIT: Found the KESSY info that includes a measurement block for window position, so that may shed some light on this?

Ah... your vehicle is right hand drive. Judging by your video, I erroneously thought you were showing the passenger side shuffling.
Could be a clue, but I suspect they're unrelated... but I'll stay tuned to the conclusion. My 2007GT's driver's soft close feature works sometimes, but most the time not... I haven't dug into it to see what... but that vehicle's soft close door dysfunction isn't affecting the window function.
Understood.
I'd say the situation under that cowling just ahead of the windshield is highly suspect... and considering both the door and back seat windows are dancing... I'll guess it's something "brain box" related.

I'll check what VCDS says KESSY is doing too. It has a measurement block for window regulators.

In this thread of yours https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...nsmission.html
It shows “ short to gnd of the external door handle “ .I would investigate and eliminate this 1 st

Its an odd one that. I can't scan the door controller on its own for some reason. If you scan Central Conv, it show no errors.
The door sensor works fine. It unlocks the car when you touch the handle and the window drops when you pull the handle.
Its a pain not being able to access the door controller directly, as there may be stuff in there I could check. Waiting ages for an auto scan to complete just to see the the door error is there is a pain too...
(EDIT!)
Found that the door system is listed as a subsystem of module 46, not as a module 42. The intital module list confused me.
The fault code is a hard fault. You can clear it but it returns immediately, even without any window shuffling. Still odd the the windows behave perfectly with respect to the door being opened and closed.

No window shuffling today. not sure why though.
Scanned the door handle and it shows Active all the time so I guess the switch is stuffed. Will peel off the door card and investigate.

Had a look behind the door card. Found a cable that was taught against one of the bowden cables, so re-routed it.
Left it a while, waiting for the weather to improve.
Now it seems to work fine. No window shuffling and the autoc sfot close has started working too! Result!

Hey Rich, glad to hear it sounds like you figured it out... and that gives me a place to look for the problem with my '07 GT's soft close door intermittent function... as I'm thinking now it might be suffering from a similar tight wire situation... because it works fine if the car is parked on a slant, with the door "down-hill a good bit, but on the level it generally doesn't work... so I'll pull the door panel off and see what.
