VCDS cannot read auto transmission?

VCDS cannot read auto transmission?
Any reason why VCDS can't see the gearbox? It reads other modules fine. Does it report "Address 02: Auto Trans
Cannot be reached" if there are no errors?

I meant to respond to this last night after I asked my son if he had ever heard of this, and his answer was that one of his Audis did the same thing, it turned out to be a defective ABS control module on the ABS unit under the bonnet, when he unplugged the ABS module the VCDS would then read the transmission, VCDS reads my Audi A8L W12 as the ABS C/M being "DEFECTIVE" yet all works fine, and also reads my transmission with no problem, Yet, my Son's Audi was reading the ABS C/M as good, but would not read the transmission, somehow he came to the idea of unplugging the ABS and then his transmission was able to be read... Strange .

It's odd because I could scan an 06 car no problem but I had to set this to read my 09 car. The ABS in the 06 car is Bosch 5.7 and the one in the 09 car is 8.1
