Bentley Continental back rest not locked
Hi I have a problem with My backrest seat lock alarm keeps coming on I have had the micro switches replaced but still the alarm keeps sound off and on,
today I tried disconnecting the seat power so that it shouldn’t pick up a fault,But still comes on it seams to be affected by the fan control if I turn the fan off the alarm come on turn the fan on the seat alarm come on any suggestions on what it could be regards Mike The Bentley Man

Do you mean microswitch when you write “ sensor “ ?
I had it and replaced a micro switch on the passenger side as the wife basically kept letting it go and slam back after putting the dog in .
They have a little peg to position them precisely. That snaps and the microswitch then moves and miss aligns .
If it is the microswitch make sure you removed the old tiny fractured peg out of its hole otherwise the new one will immediately move because it can not locate .
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...t-warning.html
Also every car had a tell , a spurious CEL , beep or warning if the LHS battery is low .
For me it’s the back rest warning .
When it’s really cold talking subzero and it’s been parked up without its trickle charger the back rest warming comes on after a start .
lasts about 15 mins ( presume alternator) until the LHS batt recovers .
A restart when warm say after a short refuel ....no warning .
Summer no warning .
Its telling me it’s cold out and the LHS battery is heading towards its life.
summary
1- ck you fitted the microswitch s correctly. They are handed so buy the correct side from flying spares
1- Does it come on after a good run + restart ? = low bat .
So the fan is a consumer and draining the LHS bat below a certain volts and the seat Module has a hissy fit .

Yes ....as I said in the link it’s closed when the seats back ,So if disconnected the module can,t see the current = hence the warning .
Intermittent , flickering as I say the module is batt volt sensitive so your LHS batt is weak .
Another more expensive answer is the alternator is not chucking out as much as it should ...so the LHS bat is struggling to keep up , more so , the more consumers you switch on .

Thanks, Johnny. If it keeps giving me trouble, I'll change out the switch, but I wonder if it's telling the truth and the seat just isn't going back all the way?
Anyway, every time you reference your project pictures, I get lost in them, like being in a library as a kid, there is so much interesting stuff to look at, I love your documentary work.
Speaking of which, how's the project coming? Haven't seen any new pictures in a while.
