Wing mirror lamp

Wing mirror lamp
I noticed that the lamp cluster on my wing mirror was hanging off at the door side.
After a quick look on here, I see that you have to take the mirror off to get at the screws for the light cluster.
I eventually pucked up the courage to prise off the mirror (talk about butt puckering! How much does this bit of glass cost?) and found some very rusty screws in there. Not sure what VAG were thinking when they used bare, unplated mild steel screws in a wing mirror?
The plastic lug that secures the light cluster to the mirror shroud had disintegrated, but I managed to plastic weld it back together.
At the same time, I replaced the rusty screws with stainless and at the same time, evict the pesky spider that sets up a new web every day on my wing mirror!
