2008 Bentley GTC Headlamp connector question
My headlamps were stolen when I purchased my car (Copart) I am missing plug in (I purchased new lights with ballast) my question is has anyone used a VW/ Audi wiring harness connector plug adapter? Any help would be appreciated, or if someone has one- they cut mine off.
Thanks

I'll suggest while you're splicing on ends to the headlights, consider lengthening the leads some... somewhere around 2" - 3" longer. I say so because: While admittedly the factory leads are long enough to do the job (just barely), some more length to the leads would (in my experience) greatly facilitate being able to unplug the headlight connectors if/when removing the headlight housing to service. As it is with the factory length headlight wiring leads it's a challenge to get to the release button for the plug and manipulate that release button to get the plug to disconnect, even with the headlight housing loose (completely unattached). I've noticed the headlight leads on my 2008 are a little longer (+ 1"?) than on my 2004, but 2 - 3" longer I think would really help and I don't see a down-side to it.

Please be sure that you either purchased used, or pigtails as shown in the links I provided, otherwise you will just end up with empty (no wires) plug ends.

Rudy: You stated that the headlight housings were removed/stolen when you received that 2008 GT... and with that, you've piqued my curiosity and I gotta ask: How in the heck did the "dismantlers" seemingly get the headlight housings out? If they cut the wires off, I can't imagine they were any more civilized in what else is involved to tastefully remove them... although admittedly disconnecting the electrical plugs from the headlight housings can certainly test one's temptation to resort to cutting the pigtail off so you can get the housings removed enough to actually get to the darn plugs. Or did the dismantlers figure out a relatively quick/easy way to remove the headlights, without the seemingly requisite removal of the front bumper skin and jacking the vehicle up and remove the wheels, inner fenders and wing fenders? I suppose one could remove the headlight housings "in pieces" without going to all that jazz... but removing them in a bunch of busted-up pieces likely wouldn't have served their purpose. I'll say I've learned things from others in my life, for example: I've seen a toddler open "child-proof packaging"... in a matter of seconds by seemingly magic... when I'd previously fought to "get the cap off" with mixed results even with my glasses on and reading & following the directions and applying adult level suppose-ed knowledge and tools.

Great question: So when you purchase a vehicle at a "Dealer auction" especially a salvaged vehicle your buying it "as is" .in my case the car sat at the auction lot for approx. 10 long months..I had the car inspected when it arrived and was sent multiple pictures and video's.. but ultimately once it hit the auction block the car had been compromised by employee's who decided to remove the lights..emblems..break open the trunk..ultimately they caused more damage then the car sustained before it arrived the yard..but that is the risk involved with buying at a dealer auction.. my guess is that the employee's cut them off after the connectors..for no apparent reason..they did not yank them off.

Rudy: Best of wishes with your project, and "it's a shame to hear that", and "I have some empathy". I don't suppose the operators manuals nor navigation DVD's were left in the glove box either.
