New to me 05 Continental GT quirk sorting
Hey Guys,
I have had my Continental gt for about three months now and am slowly figuring things out. I'm trying to figure out what things are just Bentley oddness and what are not functioning correctly. My current pet peave is that the windows close and doors auto lock anytime the car is turned off, even with the keys in the ignition. While I'm driving, the car will lock at random times and this automatically rolls the windows up. Frustrating that they seem to be linked together in every situation. Is this a feature that can be coded out or is my kessy module acting up? The car came with two new keys that both seem to function correctly. Anyone else have this issue? I haven't seen any threads on it so I'm assuming that its something acting up with my car. Thoughts?

Batteries are both new on the starting and house side. The only codes that I currently have are for the drivers seat potentiometer, which I haven't really looked into yet. The seat functions normally. It seems like everything else is fine. The car unlocks, starts, brings up the correct drivers profile. Other than it self locking, it seems to work correctly. Thats why I wondered if it was a coded setting. Looking around in the modules though, I don't see anything that seems related to my problem. Mysterious...

Hi
I would check the key FOB. Feel the close all button and see if there is any abnormal softness or rigidity. You can also try to use the second key, leaving that one at home, and check if the problem persists.

Yes, I had thought the fobs may be an issue, so I have tried them independently. The car does the same thing regardless of which fob I use. So...there's a new development as of today. My wife called and informed me that the windows were lowering two inches, pausing, lowering two inches etc all the way until they were open, then closing. The car has been parked for a week locked with the keys in my house. I had her cycle the ignition and it seems to have stopped for now. Very very strange. I'm going to start investigating the window ecus once I get back to town. I may have a Christene on my hands...haha!

Hello @Jeremy58 ,
Being that you have an 05, is it possible that the "global close" button is stuck, have you had any spills of coffee, soda, or water around the center console switches ?

You know that is a possibility that I hadn't really thought of yet. I know that I haven't spilled anything there, but the car was pretty funky when I received it and I believe that the global close button was only working intermittently. Thats a great avenue to look into, thanks! I'll post an update when I get it sorted out.
Johnny.
