I have a 2005 Bentley Continental GT and for some reason the soft close door function doesn’t seem to be working. Is it a possibility the car isn’t equipped with the option?

 

My 2005 doesn't have soft-close doors (although my 2005 Phaeton does). I *think* it was a mid-year upgrade as I think I've seen other 2005's with soft-close doors. I think they were standard equipment.

 

My 2005 doesn't have it (other than the trunk), I wish it did, everyone slams the door waaaaay too hard.

 

Do you think they can be added?

my 07 FS has the feature, & when it's activated it says "i got this" in a creaky door seal squishing sound....at least in my head.

 

My 06 has the doors but not the trunk. I wonder what we’re they were thinking over at Crew when they were issuing out options.

But your 2006 has the power open and close trunk lid correct, does it slam at the bottom without the soft close ?
I ask because I am confused also by the lack of the soft close power pull-down on the 06 GT, whereas my 05 A8L W12 has has both, power open/close, with the soft close power pull-down latching in the last fractions of an inch, whereas my 2005 GT had no soft close doors but soft close trunk lid, but no power lift or close of the lid.

So, I am in the process of adding the power open/close motor to my 2005 GT body, I have to drill a hole to allow for the gear drive of the motor to mate with the 2006 right side trunk hinge with the gear drive that I took from the 2006 GT parts vehicle, what is odd is like yours, my 2006 parts vehicle did not have the soft close either, but I figured it was because of it having the power lift and close, BUT I found out last week while planning for the power lift motor install that wiring harness plug ends are there in the 2006 harness just like the 2005 for the soft close latch, so I may try to install the pieces from my 05, but not sure if they are any good as coming from the flood...

So please let me know if it slams at close, if so and my 05 parts are no good, I will source them used.

My trunk slams shut then makes that “sound” that the lock/hinge is engaged. I think I have the plug for the motor back there. I’ll take a pic and add it in a few. Only thing “power” about my trunk is pressing the “B” to open it 😂. It “pops” up just enough for me to stick my fingers in there to open it myself.
