Brantley Continental GTC stereo speakers going out
Hello everyone. On my 2007 bentley continental GTC I have an issue where the speakers on the left side of the car are not working most of the time except when I turn the volume really loud they kick on. I took it to a car audio shop and they said that is a common problem when the factory amplifier is on the way out. I assumed if the amp is bad that it just wouldn’t work at all. It is not the Naim system. Any thoughts before I buy a new amp? I took this one out and opened it and nothing looks burned inside or smell burned.

Hello @dmadyjr ,
Please if you would, fill in your location, it would help us help you if you are close.
Being that you have the amp out, double check the two plug connectors and their pins for any corrosion, just for some information, the amps are separate channels inside, meaning depending on how many speakers you have in the 2007 GTC, 10 or 12, you have that many amplifiers inside the amp itself, I do find it odd that only the left side goes out, so I would be checking all connections, including the connection at the rear of the Infotainment head unit, as the head unit only sends out the left and right audio signal and the amp then takes those 2 channels and breaks them into 10 or 12 for the 2007.
Depending on you location, I have a head unit and 12 channel amp for testing.
I am in New Jersey.

Thank you for your time. Unfortunately I am in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, across from Detroit, Michigan. Yes the entire left side of speakers goes out and comes on when I turn the volume real high. I will check the back of the radio. If not I may send the amp somewhere to be tested.

With the whole left side going out, has to be the connection from the head unit to the amplifier, very unlikely all 6 amps going out simultaneously just one one channel, then coming back at higher volume. I'd try the connector at the amp first, easiest to get to, just about the battery on the right hand side on mine. Try some contact cleaner spray, and a very fine screw driver to scratch off any corrosion ( either white or black gunk). If that doesn't work, try the head unit, I'm sure Johnny could tell you exactly which pins to check on each connector
