I too am confused as to the rear calipers, they look like the Audi C5 RS6 units I am selling.

So @MulsanneTurbo ,
Please tell us what is up with your rear calipers.

Johnny.

I agree that the mount bracket looks identical, but yours have a cable operated handbrake Johnny, whereas in Mulsanne Turbo's photo you can definitely see the edge of the EPB motor housing and the cables emanating from it.

That said, I'm convinced that Mulsanne Turbo's calipers can't be genuine Bentley because they don't have the four tapped holes with which to mount the 'Bentley' branded casting.

Edited to correct my disinformation: The early caliper has part number 3W0698679 (680 on the right) and is shown in the parts catalogue as having the badge casting and four screws, whereas the later version of the same diagram does not show the casting and screws, and the caliper part number is changed to 3W0698679C (680C on the right).

Further information: the caliper looks very similar to the Audi A8 caliper, and certainly the A8 EPB motor fits the Bentley (i've done it), but according to TRW who supply replacement calipers for both models, the Bentley caliper is cast iron with a 41mm piston, whereas the Audi one is made of aluminium alloy and equipped with a 43mm piston. (The TRW caliper numbers for Bentley are BHS1319E (LH) and BHS1320E (RH))

Thank you all. I'm travelling today and tomorrow and am away from the GT - and my Indy ! - so will digest the advice above and report back Sunday/Monday.

As ever thank you for all the invaluable advice and assistance - I don't know what I would do without this forum.

Happy New Year!

MT.

Thanks again for all the information and help.

Met with my Indy midweek and in the end we've ordered a refurbished e bay caliper - here

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-BENTLEY-CONTINENTAL-43mm-Rear-LEFT-TRW-electric-brake-caliper-EPB-EXCHAN/174363078180?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2057872.m2749.l2649

which was referred to in my earlier post.

This seems the best option given the Indy isn't a Bentley specialist and a repair/refurb is outside their expertise.

The caliper part number for the motor they say is 32328402 but we're both inexperienced in this area so not sure if that answers any of the questions !

Dark Green - thank you I may well contact those firms you kindly provided details of to ask them to look into a repair when i get the old part back next week.

Thanks to all again for the guidance and kind input and knowledge sharing . The end result is I've saved significant £ in finding the alternative part via the expertise on this forum.

MT

ps in case useful the link to the UK mobile caliper painter I used is

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-calipers-painting-mobile/184302710973

I don't associate the repainting work undertaken with the failure of my rear caliper - think that was just a timing issue. Seemed a very decent chap.

Thanks to all again.

The replacement caliper arrived yesterday - so just in case of interest here it is. Looks like Audi/VW to my untrained eye.

They had a red one in stock to match my existing livery - even though the ebay advert was black - so pretty pleased.

@sazam ,
Yes, you can open and close the rear calipers by applying 12 +/- to the two large pins shown in the previous pictures, BUT, be sure that you actually unplug the connection, do not pierce the wires to apply power while plugged in, if you do, you will fry your parking brake control module.

Or, you simply can use Ross-Tech VCDS to open the calipers.

Hello friends ;-)

I hope you can help me. I am lokking for refurbished caliper (rear) for my Bentley GT. Which company sell some refurbished caliper with Bentley logo?
Brake caliper is seized, it will not wind back, requires a new one.Unfortunately, the eBay links above in the article is not working.

I bought Brembo brake pads. I still need brake discs (rear). Can I use parts from VW/AUDI, if yes what would be the part number?

Thanks a lot for your helps
Regards
