Air suspension issues as always.

@PrestigeLdn ,
You showed that it had 19.99 bar/290psi, that is good, you most likely have other issues regarding the control module, valve block, level sensors, or wiring, because something is not adding up, at first you said you had 5 bar in the tank and pressure in the lines for 3 of the 4 struts, now you have rebuilt the compressor and have 20 bar or 290psi which is good, but now you have no pressure in any of the struts lines, it doesn't make sense, are you doing one thing at a time, or did you rebuild the compressor and swap out the valve block together, or did you test the new valve block also after rebuilding the compressor, I would also look at measuring blocks (VCDS) with the vehicle on the lift while lifting the vehicle up and down to see that all 4 level sensors register proper readings.

Hi Johnny.
ok so:
Replaced blown strut drivers front
at the start I had 4bar in the tank.
I smoke tested and sprayed with soapy water all lines and no leaks were detected
replaced valve block as I had one laying around
replaced the battery and it went straight up to 19 bar as soon as I rescanned it.
I rebuilt the compressor anyway as it seemed quite noisy. When I stripped compressor I found the piston chamber to be completely scored. I rebuilt anyway.
still had 19bar in tank.
When I lift the car all 4 sensors react to the height changes
when I run vcds to do a basic setting to ventilate/fill bags it goes through. I stupidly chose to vent the system and It vented the pressure out of the system
now when I go to fill the system again I cannot get any pressure built back up. the cars only lightly touching the floor. All 4 wheels are raised
If I pop the line off of the compressor to valve block I have the faintest pressure. It’s not as strong as I would expect.
pressure goes up ever so slightly. 0.33 bar after 3 compressor runs. I don’t want to burn out this compressor as it gets over 60 degrees.
so my question is. Does it take a while for the system to repressurise. Or can you normally pressurise it via vcds with a couple of cycles?
thanks

Good afternoon @PrestigeLdn ,
I see one of two situations that may apply here,
1) I have a feeling that you may have a bad valve block, as it was "laying around", it may be just what happened to me when I purchased what was to be a "New" NAIM amplifier, turned out that I recieved a box that looked like new, but with the used burnt-out NAIM amp in the box, the seller blamed his mechanic...
2) Please watch my video and around the one minute mark see if you have the same amount of air flow or pressure on the short black line from the compressor to the valve block.

I got the same problem, i replaced in my 05 the front struts, valve block and compressor, all new, the car wont rise from the ground unless i manually bring back the suspension to normal level, if i use the car daly i have no problem at all, but if i park it for a couple of weeks and allow the car to drop it will simply not rise the next time you turn it on.l as it should.
I have never discovered the issue in a year, at this point im seriously considering to ditch the Ben HUR infotainment system and get an original unit since i’ve had some problems with controls in the unit or junk the air suspension and install coilovers.

Hello @Jurgeenh Borbon ,
As the original @PrestigeLdn never responded to my questions back in January, we have no outcome....
On the other hand, I must say, your vehicle should never drop regardless, if it does, you have a leak, check all airlines, and struts along with the valve block for bubbles..

Hi Johnny and All,
Been a while. What would this forum be without your expert knowledge and patience..even when some people fail to finish off with the solution/outcome..great if PrestigeLdn could complete the picture.
May I have your thoughts again please.. My 2006 GT has three relatively new air suspension units, and some years ago had a leak (wear) on the line to the RH rear unit. This was repaired, and the RH air susp unit was changed unnecessarily at that time. Since then I also changed both front ones 3 years ago after a collapse on the RH front. You say above that the car should never lower itself (other than releasing a little pressure when stopped as mine does?). However, mine actually sinks over time. Give it a couple weeks parked and it will sit about 2 inches lower. Recently I had a leak of coolant at the front of the engine (water gushes down the radiator area and quite a lot too..if the engine runs it will dump 5 liters (well over a gallon) in minutes.. Looks like the radiator but hard to tell, and surprisingly large leak all of a sudden for it to be radiator.. Anyway, have to take it to a garage to have it tested, as you know it is very tight and hard to see.. Anyway, following this seemingly unrelated issue, the car wont raise itself at all, and the raised level setting won't do anything either. I dod try to reset everything by disconnecting my two (relatively new) Varta batteries (positive off at the starter and negative off at the house batt). So now I have no reaction level wise, and the strut button on the console and ride hight warnings are lit. btw, the car seems to think the bonnet is open (having removed the cover plate above the radiator block.
Whilst at it, I have another gremlin. This is that the soft close wont engage to pull the doors in. The motors run, but do not engage the door..Could be the latches, I will try another reset on this one.
Did you come across any of this, Any thoughts?
Many thanks!
