Hello @Beefys ,
Welcome aboard !
As far as crash sensors, could you please post the scan or fault code as to which sensor is giving you a problem, also the year of your GT.
Here are some pictures from my GT rebuild thread showing the location of the 2 at the top of the radiator support, and there are 2 on each side in the rear under the quarter panel trim.

Hi Darren @Beefys ,
You really need to invest in a proper scanning tool for the VAG vehicles, a generic scanner will not give accurate information for body faults, a generic scanner may be ok somewhat for OBD engine codes, but not for diagnostic of body control modules/circuits.
The Ross-Tech VCDS is very user friendly, where as the dealer level VAS 5054 has a steep learning curve.
See link for RT

Also, I can not follow your text format because of no punctuation at all, maybe voice to text 😁.
So, is it, passenger side airbag, or passenger, side airbag, as in side curtain, or side seat airbag ?
If if just shows "passenger side", then it could be any of the three on the passenger side, such as, dash airbag, side curtain airbag, or the seat airbag.
That is why a good detailed scan is required.
There is a great third brake light replacement thread here on 6Speed by @Zaos , I will link it here in a bit,, there is also a headliner thread for your repair also..
Edit : Third brake light link.

Edit 2: This link to @pwc6t3 's thread has a PDF for headliner removal in it.
