2010 Supersports stalling on the road intermittently

Hi all,
My car has 28k miles and it’s a 2010 supersports, it has been stalling at different speeds, i wouldn’t be able to feel any acceleration for about 1 second, then when i release the pedal, it just tries to pick up speed and and 2 seconds later it just accelerates really fast if i keep on holding the pedal down. There is no check engine light on. I suspected bad gas, but i always get my gas from shell and Costco.

also want to note that i had used fuel injector cleaner like 1k miles ago, and i have a brand new BMC air filter installed.

the forum below resonates what Problem I’m facing.https://www.rollsroyceforums.com/thr...t-speed.27114/

please let me know if you suspect or experienced something similar and how you’ve fixed it.

thanks in advance.

Hey Shorttough,

Have you had the codes read yet?

There could be something logged in the ecu to give you direction as to what might be causing your issue.

My first thought reading your post was a bad accelerator pedal position sensor but I certainly wouldn't have expected it to have worn out with such low mileage on your vehicle. It could still have gone faulty but I think the best first step would be to go and have your codes read and post back here if anything is found.

All the best,
Lewis.

P0544 exhaust sensor bank 1

would this possibly cause the stalling issue?

@shorttough ,

Just so everyone is clear, as you are using the same terminology ("stalling") as the person in the the thread from the RR site that you linked, that persons engine was not actually stalling, as he stated that he never had to restart the engine, he just lacked throttle response.

So, what exactly is your engine doing, does it stall and need to be restarted ?

Johnny

To give you an example, i was driving at 40mph and then i would use the pedal to keep the maintain the speed and all of a sudden my pedal would be non responsive and the car would just lose its pace and within a second i would press the pedal and i would get the acceleration back. If i try to go to 40 to 60mph, it would struggle to accelerate and then it would just accelerate really fast.

Yesterday it happened while i was going over a speed bump and i wasn’t able to go over it, but i would release the pedal and press again and it’ll gain acceleration.

not sure if this constitutes as stalling. But i don’t have to restart my car and it doesn’t last more than a second or two.

@Johnny Hotspur GT
is this the part I’ve to replace with?

https:/www.scuderiacarparts.com/part/284531/bentley/7c919529l/emissions-temperature-sensor-d-2404.html

i have searched the code in the forums, some people got the error on their dashboard. I didn’t seem to get one.

Hello @shorttough ,
Very sorry for my delayed response, but I have been searching for the best information for you, this EGT has been covered a bit on here, but someone here on 6speedonline did the repair a different way, therefore not paying $430 per EGT sensor, but instead replacing just the board inside at $40 IIRC, therefore also eliminating the need to unscrew the probe from the exhaust manifold, BUT, I just can not find the thread, yet when I Google it, the pictures come up, but the thread the pictures lead to, do not include or give the proper information...

Then there is this other site that talks about just soldering the dry/cracked solder points.

Johnny

Do the GT's have an electronic throttle position sensor? Found this thread describing the same thing IE low voltage from battery (fixed) and later posters said faulty EGT fixed their issue.

there is nothing wrong with the board it just needs to be resoldered it has cold solder joints. same for the flap motors by blower motor. Ive had this done on 2 of my spurs. a bad egt senor will retard top speed. when fixed will become a rocket again. servo motor fix will result in ice cold Ac.

johnny i sent jason pictures of these fixes I'll text them to you if you want as i dont know how to post picts from my phone on here.
