DIY Headlining repair/refurbishment

a 2007 Mulliner GT , saggy headlining on 'Dimpled red leather' Just HAD TO be repaired,

pretty handy at this sort of thing as i have restored a few Jags over the last 20 years, and now have my Bentley to pamper...

after much research i decided to have a go , and obtained the best headlining glue i could find ( time will tell i suppose , so no recommendations, lol )

lots and lots of clips and fixing hold up the headlining panel, quite robust and firmly fixed, it comes out in a flat 180 degree twisting motion , leaving this , oh no what have i done moment ( and the wife agreed, lol)

Headlining removed and awaiting attention , the foam interlayer had completely failed, so it all had to come off, and be removed from the leather and the backing board,

several hours of cleanup removing foam and other stuff, sorry , no pics of gluing it up , very busy and glue over my hands, lol

but back in the car, and very pleased with the results for a DIY job , if you want' perfect' let Bentley do it with a complete new part, this is just for me, and im happy , and no flapping headlining driving down the road

currently a very hot few days in the UK, 30+ temps ( very hot for UK, lol) and its still stuck fast with no issues,

BB

Excellent repair. That is something to be proud of. Pictures are outstanding. It's great to see another DIY owner not afraid to tackle working on their Bentley.

Nice work! I'm curious how long did it take start to finish? Multi day job?

And tell us about any weird/tricky clips that might break off. Looks great btw.
