Time for new shoes….
So while down in FL decided to take care of the brakes and rotors. Found a great deal from R1 Concepts at a 1/10th the price for OEM pads and rotors I may end up regretting it later but I’ll let people know my experience.
Mechanic pointed out a “minor” issue with one of my rims. Guess the 22’s can’t handle the open road. Was planning on replacing them anyway but not while down in FL visiting family. Luckily found a place Hubcaps Wheels and Tires which had local inventory. Headed down Tuesday, may have it towed rather than drive it.
Not pretty sight. One spoke completely cracked
Couple of nice flat spots on the rim
Replacing them with ABL30s but going 20” to improve ride quality
ABL30s

I bought the R1 pads and rotors a few years ago and recently fitted them.
They are OK, but I’ll be buying different ones next time. Fronts fit fine, but one disc had machining defects on the outer edge. Rears fit too, but the rotor screw hole that mounts to the it hub was off about 2mm (closer to outside edge), so those little screws couldn’t be installed and I didn’t feel like drilling and chamfering a new hole. No harm, but makes alignment of the studs, wheels, holes just a bit trickier.

Well had the new rims/tires installed and immediately put about 1400 miles on them. Probably not the smartest move but I didn’t have the luxury of time. I actually pretty happy with them. Not to different than the ones I was looking at already.
i went with 20s instead and the ride is SOOO much better. So glad it did that. The 22s just rode to rough.
Tempted to swap out the centers for a Bentley ones. It would look much cleaner.
So far pretty happy with the Rotors and Pads but I didn’t really inspect them. Had a shop do it and was preoccupied with family stuff. Here’s a close up about a week later with about 300 miles on them. Brakes I think i should upgrade from semi metallic. Good for daily but not sure there is enough stopping power of your really flexing this beasts muscles. Wouldn’t want to get cut off by a tractor trailer doing 120 on those.
