Exclamation 2010 Bentley flying spur

Hello New Here ! just wanna say this is a great forum . Also my left rear taillight (bottom half) of light turns off randomly and some days stays on with no issue .I've been trying to diagnose the problem myself and I've made sure the batteries are all topped off with my trickle charger and it seems to help I think ! is anyone else having this issue I haven't seen any conversation about this any where !..

Hello @Carla@2012 ,
Welcome to the forum !

As far as your tail light, I have no experience with FS rear lights, can you see any moisture/water behind the lens, have you checked the connection at the tail light itself for looseness or corrosion on any of the pins ?

That sure sounds like a connector that is loose or corroded, creating a faulty ground.

I’d unplug the connector, spray it with this stuff:

CRC 05103 QD Electronic Cleaner -11 Wt Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BXOGNI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SQY096YN1K2YFHSMYTJ3

..and spray it on receptacle too. Then ensure that it fits nice and snug.

Hello Johnny ,
I removed the taillight and checked all visible signs of wear and such but every connection seems very clean ..No water infiltration no rust ! tail light is factory clean...

It’s also possible, but unlikely, that the actual Led controller is going bad - is it only doing it on one side?

Yes only left rear and lower half of light , Tail light has 2 oval shaped sections of LEDs ....so when it goes out its the bottom half of the whole taillight

Well i sprayed the connectors and light contacts with the cleaner ! after unplugging the ground from the battery . Waited a good ten min to make sure everything is completely dry ...So far the light is on no faults hopefully it stays this way .I will report back if it is fixed for good or if the problem persists .
thank you Scott Fergusson for the recommendation .

I hope that did the trick. My gut says, though, that the led module is flaky.. Fingers crossed.

+1, plus I am confused as to the disconnection of the battery, hence that may have also been an issue... Good ground..

Ive seen this on several cars. the light has to be cut open to see the boards its 3 boards inside. Call luke From Alpine performance, he may have the boards . that light usually left rear light cost about $2000. its a very easy fix. BTW most ppl dont realize the tail lights from a spur are different from the GT..

So a Quick update on my taillight issue , When i bought my 2010 Bentley flying spur I noticed that the lighters were not working as I slowly check for anything that needed to be fixed on the car . I did replace a simple fuse for the lighters and everything was fine ....I believe that there is a short somewhere with the lighters because once the new fuse was replaced i started to have issues with the taillight ! Fuse blew again and i have not replaced it and taillight issues are gone lol I dont care to much for the lighters anyway cause id never smoke in the car ....
