For the Americans only
For all you non-U.S. folks, this discussion is not going to be relevant. But for you Texans and such, I need some advice on concealed carry for the Bentley.
Easiest place to keep a weapon is in the center console on most cars, but that doesn't work on the Bentley due to the weird design. The glove box is too far away.
Has anyone found a good place to velcro a holster? Under the steering wheel? The map pocket has too small an opening. Ankle holster is a challenge with the steering wheel.
Even the passenger seatback pocket is too tight.
I live in an area with an exploding number of carjackings and mob incidents, just the other day I was on one of the main/biggest streets in my city and a young man saw my car from the sidewalk where he was with a big group and strode out into traffic to stop me, holding up his hand and stepping in front of the car. He had good reflexes and I didn't dent my car, but had I been at a stoplight, I don't know what would have been the group's next move, it's gotten very brazen here, there is very little to no police response these days. Police are no longer allowed to pursue in cars, nor engage in foot chases, and carjackings are not dealt with as an emergency, they are given to detectives the next day to take a report. It's too bad it's come to this, but driving a Bentley has me on edge now in a way it never did in the past.

Ill let ya know when I get one, but......... EDC is all about what you are actually going to walk out of the house with. If its too cumbersome, you will leave it behind more and more. I went through a few different types of handguns before I found one that was compact enough that didnt feel like a burden (M&P Shield). The other thing to think about is wherever you end up stuffing it, you need to remember to take it out when you park the car. Im sure Il has some crazy restrictive handgun laws so Ill let you decide on how to proceed IE Safety VS Legality etc.
But as far as out of the box solutions, something like this wold work well. I dont support the vendor (because it looks like vinyl junk), but you get the idea, just found it doing a search.

Oh, after 27 years in Los Angeles, we just got fed up and moved to a nice small coastal town in Florida. Best decision ever.

I keep a small pistol in the door pocket. If you keep a unloaded gun in its own closed container, it's not concealed carry (still have to have a FOID card). It's just transporting it. If there's trouble, I'd have to unzip the case and pop the magazine in, but that's pretty quick.
But honestly my first line of defense would be to never take my car into Chicago.

I was just having that some conversation with myself. Also being from around Chicago and traveling across the US so often it would be nice to have it tucked away somewhere discrete. I carry a Glock and a Taurus for concealed carry and would be nice to have it hidden away but within quick reach. Would be willing to pay someone to build a custom panel or void if there were a good spot to use. Maybe below the radio where the trim ends def requires some custom work to make it look clean.

I have to go try it, I also didn't know I could cook my sideview mirrors by leaving the switch in the middle position.
that might be the answer I'm looking for

Not sure of the size of your sidearm, but, Will a hard paddle holster fit between the passenger seat and console? Would be an easy and instinctive reach, if you are right handed and need to react quickly.

Also, check this out, which mounts nicely under the steering column. https://www.amazon.com/GUM-CREEK-GCCUVHHM-Stock-Accessories/dp/B00CJUT62M/ref=sr_1_8?ajr=0&dchild=1&keywords=Gold+Star+Under +Steering+Column+Holster&linkCode=sl2&linkId=f0d7b 1ea50746b3a5ebde67927203830&qid=1630468593&s=sport ing-goods&sr=1-8
I would guess left handed holsters would fit too, for anyone needing that.
PS, if you want to go extra fancy with a rfid case, this will make it easy to park in the lots of restricted areas such as hospitals, parks, etc., not having to put it in a case in the trunk or lock in the glovebox. https://www.amazon.com/Hornady-98210-Rapid-Vehicle-Steel/dp/B07754NPVZ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1528924875&sr=8-2&keywords=hornady+safe&linkCode=sl1&tag=range36 5-20&linkId=649e9f66e98aee55c2ed10c68919f0e1

lol, of all the items here, the one that would terrify me the most in close quarters combat would be the pizza cutter.

@Samhain ,
Please explain your pictures, as from what I see, your door is open, as I believe that I see pavement, not carpet or the side of your seat...
So, can you open the pocket and remove the firearm with the door closed ?
