Alpine vs. Kenwood

Alpine vs. Kenwood
Long story I'll tell here when I'm less angry at the aftermarket world, but I have had the chance to own both the top-end Alpine double-DIN and the top-end Kenwood double-DIN radios installed in my Bentley within the last six months.
They're nearly identical, I liked the Alpine better, it had a fuller sound. There isn't really any functional differences between the two, the Alpine had a bunch of present EQs, but that's not super important to me. The Kenwood has a much higher bass response for any given volume level.
Aesthetically, they could have been made by the same company.
Anyway, I don't know if this is much use here, since very few of us have Ben Hur conversions, but if you're gonna do the thing, I'd go with Alpine, but there isn't much difference.

Your right British…the two are about the same now. I’ve always been a Kenwood person. I remember having two KAC 921 amps and the 4 channel to compliment them in a 92 stick shift Toyota Celica I had back in the day with two 10inch Orion subs 😂. I have a Kenwood in my Bentley and a Alpine in my Escalade…only difference I would say would be the EQ.

Excelon DDX9907XR
Is the new one.
ILX-F309 Is the old one? I think? ILX anyway. $800 or so, double-din

I have the Kenwood ddx920wdabs, main reason I got it was for the built in Garmin SatNav, I prefer it over thing like Google maps etc. One thing I like about it, is the Carplay connects automatically, and it has a digital radio as well, works well here in Australia.
I added a 12" Kenwood subwoofer and amplifier, and that produces more than enough bass.

I've got a Kenwood DNX8180DABS. It's 'OK'
Really CBA messing with the equalizer more than I need to, and of course, much of the funky speaker timing and so on simply doesn't work through the Ben-HUR.
Not that impressed with Garmin either. It's hugely out of date in the UK. I last updated it in March and my sister's house (which is well over a year old) is still not on there.....
I suspect it's better than the original, though
