Hello and GT Battery Trickle Charging Question
Hi - new to the forum. After years of thinking about it finally too the plunge and been owning a GT last few months - loving it!
If leaving the car for a month or so are there any top tips to keep things from going wrong - other than have someone take it for a drive every now and then.
Currently its my daily draiver and does that very well.
The question is mainly abolut trickle charger/battery conditioning - car is not near a power source, is there a recommended solar charger to purchase that can sit in the front window?
Also - is it worth adding anything to the fuel to stabilise it? (actually do many of you add stuff to fuel here - im stuck with E5 in this area most of the time which isnt great)
Thank you in advance!

Rodan,
You will see in the related topics great discussion on chargers. The one thing I will share with you is that of all the cars I have owned over 50 years I have never had one suck a battery dry so hard and so fast as this one. I work in the garage where this car is and this machine never goes to sleep, there is always something on. Realizing that and ending up with a drained batter I bit the bullet early and put two top end batteries in the car and plug it into a charger if it is sitting in the garage all the time. They make 2 battery chargers but with new batteries I just alternate batteries. If you have to pick one go for the big one on the left side, looking into the trunk/boot. Not knowing about the Bentley charger when I got my car I got a NOCO system on Amazon for about 1/3 the price of the gadget with the Bentley logo and it works fine. Take car of the batteries and keep this car energized and it will take care of you.
I am in Texas now but the last 25 years lived near a ski resort and kept a BMW MC in cold storage (-0 F) over the winter. My mechanic's advise was to keep the tank full with a GOOD gas to minimize condensation and keep a good trickle charger on the battery. Every spring I would check to make sure the mice did not make a home in the MC and it fired right up. PS Check your tire pressure before you take off, cold weather will change that if you still have air in the tire.

Dark Green,
Thank you for such an detailed and quite exquisite addition to my garage stool observation of the power drain and storage tips for the GT. I noticed the person posting was in England and knowing that you folks were listening to Chopin while having tea while we were still fighting Indians I am amazed that there is somewhere in England that you would actually leave a Bentley and there is no power close. I can see there is much for me to learn.
Being a very new owner and not a mechanic I appreciate any additions or corrections to my basic observations. My wife keeps telling me "you should have just bought the damn Cadillac" but I always wanted a Bentley and now I do, so thank you for the education. It is appreciated.

Thank you for these replies - really helps.
Fuel is an issue - have found source of higher octane but not easy. Just did a nice run accross europe and av 24.5 mpg here - 12 - 16 at home.
Found a garage to store the car so will get the proper trickle charger - i have the cigarette lighter plug.
Investigating the drains, cleared the leaky boot due to right rear drain tube being blocked. Filler cap required unblocking. All else well and dry inside!
Love the car
