My opinion: get the Cadillac with a new car warranty vs the used bentayga with no warranty & 4-5 years on the road. Especially with the work load you have planned. Repairs & upkeep on the bentagya would likely be more than the caddy.

 

Good point! I just want to have the panache of driving the bentayga when I'm not pulling a trailer or doing long drives. First world problems.

 

Yes, there is little panache in a broken down Bentayga on the side of the road, pulling a trailer. LOL

It's difficult to advise as your messages seem to be mixed. You want to be seen in the Bentayga, but concerned about handling expensive repairs? If the expense of breakdowns is not the issue, then satisfy your ego, take your chances.

BTW, the trailer just might come in handy for you with the C8 given the myriad issues, the biggest of which is the leaking or completely failing DCTs. I had a 2021 HTC on order, but cancelled as I didn't want to chance a brand new car spending more time on a dealer's hoist than in my garage as many have had happen to them (it's a different version of "dice rolling")

I think Larry has had the best advice - Get the brand new Cadillac, with warranty, roll the GM dice...swallow hard when everyone looks at you not driving a Bentayga.

 

So far no problems with my C8 coupe 3LT, Z51, museum delivery. Not really to be seen in a bentayga but the chance drive a W12 technology. There are other choices out there but have a Range Rover sport and a defender 110x. So just checking out other manufacturers. Haven't tried a VW product before. But like you said, I guess for daily and long trips the cadillac has always been a good bet.

 

Yes, in fairness, your original Q asked about reliability. It's hard to answer that, except to say there hasn't been any big stories out there about catastrophes with the Bentayga, so there's that.

It's difficult to predict much BC the model is still pretty new and first examples just coming off warranty. That combined with such little volume, there isn't much out there. So, that could be good news for you....or a time bomb, who knows.

Conservative and cost effectiveness says Cadillac...risk, cost, and panache says Bentayga.

On the C8, good for you, you're solid right now. Hope it stays that way for you. If you ever visit the BIG corvette forum and go to C8 general discussion, just do a search on DCT, find a comfortable chair BC you'll be reading a lot. Maybe pour a drink too. I could start posting a list of threads here, but don't think it is acceptable. I, first, was doing a museum delivery, then changed it to a driveway delivery purchased from Macmulkin, private carrier delivered to AZ; then I couldn't bear it anymore and cancelled.

Hope you come back with some pics of what you decide. Especially if it's the Bentley with a car trailer attached! That would be an awesome one for the picture thread.
