Nice! I pass by them quite a bit and heard good things on them. I haven't used them directly yet, as I've been able to fix everything on my B myself so far. I had them quote vacuum lines but I ended up fixing it myself thanks to the help of 6speed. They recommended a great body shop that I've worked with several times so far. Good luck with yours!

Well, I'm still convinced Fluid Motor Union is the right shop to go to. I have had zero trouble with them sourcing Audi/VW parts. I've never tried to bring my own Chinese parts in, so I guess your mileage might vary, but in terms of quality work and honest mechanics, FMU really comes out on top. I'm a particularly good customer, so I might have a different experience, I think I've sent $19k since my car was new, one engine-out and both front air suspensions as well as the third brake light and a big tune-up, they powder coated my wheels, put on my new Michelins…anyway, it always takes a bit longer than I'm first quoted, but they treat the car like it's their own, they trade it back-and-forth with the radio shop and the detail shop.

Sorry you didn't have the same experience I did.

Tough to compare service facilities based on hourly rate. You could conclude that FMU is better because they charge more I guess. And one shop charging 10 hours at $200/hr is cheaper than another shop charging 20 hours at $135/hr for the same job......

I didn't mean to come off as if I was disparaging FMU, so far my experience with them has been positive. $200 does seem a bit high but I also think you need to pay for expertise and experience. Barrington Motorsports reviews look pretty good as well. Either way I go, its nice to have some options in the area. I am still on the fence whether to mount these TRQ parts but I will probably send them back and stick with what some that others recommended through Rock Auto.

They actually quoted out about the same time. I have nothing againts FMU from what I am seeing online they both seem like high quality shops. Either way its good to have options. I am not just looking to go the cheapest route, this car is my rolling therapy and I am happy to invest in her.

Actually $135/hr seems high too.

I never noticed FMU's labor price. Their total charge always seemed reasonable for the work done. Either way I hope it works out well!

Me too, either good or bad I will share with the group. Hopefully my experience helps other owners.
