All joking aside guess time to get a new front bumper. Any suggestions on a place to find a solid used stock bumper would be appreciated.

not a fan of most aftermarket front bumpers. There a solid SuperSports bumper from Medusa which looks like it will cost about the same as stock. I know I’ll pay more to get the figment right for aftermarket too.

Looking around some sites I see they reference North American Cars and Non-North American cars. I can understand for some parts the need for a difference

but is there any difference in the bumper cover?

Hello @DR3ADKN0T ,
Yes, the is a difference, North America has side marker lights, whereas other countries do not, here is my non NA front bumper, I added the very small side marker lights.

Thanks. Looks like yours is from a newer year. So if I don’t care about the side lights can I use a non NA without issues? Tempted to see if I can repair the damage vs gong aftermarket which will require plenty of work to install and fitment.

Mine is an aftermarket bumper made for the 1st generation, as far as no markers lights, I did get a bulb warning in the dash without a bulb in place, so I had the original bulbs dangling behind the bumper to keep the warning off while I waited to install the tiny LED's, plus, there is also the legal side of it, so I added these very bright tiny lights.

Not sure if you have done anything with this yet. I do body and paintwork and I would DEFINITELY work on fixing this or having a good bodyshop fix it. I just bought a new aftermarket bumper from Bentley Bumpers in Oregon. I still have to paint it but the quality is exceptional. All in, I have about $1,800 in it.

I was looking at aftermarket but kept hearing about quality issues and shipping from overseas is slow and expensive right now. Never heard of Bentley Bumpers, didnt see them on my Google Search. Ended up getting a used bumper in good condition, for $2800 and have someone willing to prep, paint and install for about $1200.

This is ending up being a $4000 mistake on my part...........

Just got my bumper from Bentley Bumpers and I have to say that the quality and detail are first class. Gonna paint and install it myself.

My bumper is the aftermarket Supersports kind, and I'm pretty sure it's the one on eBay from England. The fit is OK, but it could have been better.

The only thing I don't like is that I have the honeycomb Lamborghini-type grille pattern instead of the regular Bentley pattern. And I want them chrome like my main grille.

I purchased a set of 3D-printed grille inserts from Bentley Conversions, but for the life of me I cannot find anyone in all of Sweden who is able to chrome plastic. I'd be willing to ship them out of the country (preferably within the EU) if anyone has any solid connections with chroming.

So the shop I brought the bumper to is saying it won't fit on my 2006. Looks like its a 2008 or newer model. So I pulled the trigger to get the one from BentleyBumpers site. So far process has been fine, they are making a new mold so they said it will add a week to shipping. They threw in some free grills and other accessories. Hoping they are as high quality as you stated. I will try to document it from everyone here.

BTW if anyone is looking for a 2008/2009 Front bumper cover (White) reach out to me., It's White and in pretty good shape gonna throw it back up on Ebay if no one is interested.

-Steven from Bentley bumpers has been great to work with. I am in the process of painting the bumper right now. Sanding the primer today and hopefully painting later today. The fit was a little tight but I am making it work. I'm used to working with ABS bumper covers and they flex more than this one. That said, I'll post pictures of it and the painting.

What are you asking for your bumper?

Ron

I am just looking for the $2800 I spent on it. I figure I can hold on to it and eventually sell it if I dont get any offers.

So quick update on the bumper. So ordered from Bentley Bumpers. Had slight delay do to new molding they were doing. So feedback from the body shop was the bumper was in excellent shape and no issues installing or painting it. The issue I am dealing with are the sensors. Mines and 06 and looks like the bumpers want 09 sensors. He sells the sensors for $535 for the set but there is a dispute between the bumper place and the body shop about being able to reuse my current ones. At this point I just wanted the car back and I’ll sort out sensors on my own. Here some pics.

Dr3adknot, I had the same problem. Hopefully your shop hasn't thrown out the old bumper. The brackets on the back of the old bumper are "removeable" and can be added to the new bumper once those are removed. The brackets are held on with some sort of glue and can be carefully removed with a plastic trim removal tool. That's what I did.

Looks good from what I can see! It's the fit around the grille-part of the hood that usually gives it away, as the gap behaves differently between after-market bumpers.

Do you not want the lower grille inserts to be the same shiny chrome as your main grille? That is what I would like for mine, but it is obviously a personal preference. I have chrome wheels, so perhaps it blends in better going with all chrome.
