I have a 2014 Mulsanne, and we have a problem with vibration in the wheel. The vibration in the wheel was diagnosed at an independent shop as a broken steering rack. I got quoted $21,000 pre-tax for a 4 year service + the steering rack repair. Any thoughts on this? They won't give me a parts breakdown or anything, but the shop is trusted. Just trying to see if I am getting overcharged or not.

I would seriously check into the breakdown of the quote, they should definitely tell you what the 4 years service cost is versus the steering rack replacement.

I would also check into the part number of the rack on your Mulsanne, it does list for $8000.00 +/- on Scuderia, part number 3Y1 422 075 F.

However, my GT has part number 3W1 422 062 K, that superceded to 3W1 422 071 D, and lists for $2700.00 +/-, yet the part number cross references to a 1990 to 1994 Audi 100 at a drastically reduced price.

$8000 for the rack alone is absurd, see if you can have your rack rebuilt in your area.
