Airbag lamp on dashboard

Airbag lamp on dashboard
Hello all,
I recently became aware that a few parts of my red leather interior had been painted over, and with a shade not quite like the Hot Spur original. So I decided to leave my car with a local leather specialist to restore it to its natural color and beauty.
I removed the passenger seat at home, and it was actually quite tedious work figuring out how to remove all of those damn wire connectors under the seat. heh They were all different! I then drove to the leather care place and removed the driver's seat there. (They weigh about a ton each!)
Anyways, when I drove there, the airbag lamp on the dash was lit, and it kept saying something about the seat not being in the locked position. Presumably since the passenger seat was out of the car by then.
The leather guy told me it would probably still be lit even after I get the seats back in. Can someone instruct me on how to clear the airbag lamp code after I get the seats back in? I have purchased the Ross Tech VCDS software, but I do not know it very well. Thanks!

Hello @xclens ,
Yes, the airbag light is on because you removed the passenger seat, and even more since removal of the driver seat, I am sure during your removal, you saw the special yellow connectors under each seat, as each seat has an airbag built into the side of it, the seat back lock message is also active because of said removal, but in actuality, all warnings should clear themselves once you reinstall everything, if not, it is simple process to read and clear fault codes with RT, you would not use auto scan, but instead click in the "select" tab to select an individual module, such as number 15 for the airbags, then read faults and clear.
As an added safety measure, most will tell you to disconnect both batteries whenever you are working with any airbags... I have done it both ways, never had any issues, your decision of course.

I had no idea that the batteries perhaps should have been disconnected prior to dealing with the air bags. This is all new stuff to me; I have never removed a seat from a vehicle before. No wonder they made it such a hassle to figure out all of the different connections underneath...
I did not disconnect the batteries, and so far everything seems to have gone OK. The Bentley is sitting inside the leather repair shop, with both front seats out, and I did not have any issues (aside from the weight) while removing them. I have not started the car since I removed the driver's seat. But I will let you know as soon as the refurbished seats are back in!

The airbag error came up on my dash after I had removed the front seats for reconditioning. The yearly vehicle inspections in Sweden do not tolerate any issues with the air bags, so my Bentley wouldn't have passed the inspection and caused it to become banned from the roads. Thanks to Johnny's help above I was able to clear the airbag error code with Ross-Tech VCDS and pass the inspection.
