Continental GT rear left window motor

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my rear left window motor on my continental gt..... the problem is I can't find a used one anywhere.

So I was wondering if any of you wonderful people had any advice on making a different part number work as it should, or if there is another vw alternative that will work correctly.

The part number of the one fitted is 3w3 959 703 superceded I am told to 703A, B or C.

It's there a way to make a front door 702 work properly for example by using vcds at all? Or even re pinning the connectors?

Thanks

Gary

Lots of "regulator rebuild kits" available, are you sure it's the motor? If it's just the motor, how about buying a regulator repair kit and taking the motor into a motor repair shop? I have big motors rebuilt all of the time.

Just because I was curious, I found Scuderia has it in stock ($615) but I also found about 1,000 DC motor repair places, don't know where you are, but it is straightforward if the motor is burned out of just gummed up to get it repaired. If you're really trying to save money, there are a bunch of YouTube videos of motor repair, if it's not totally burned out and melted, it's usually just bad brushes, or if it's brushless it's just carbon and gunk, taking it apart and cleaning it might be all it needs. Maybe the windings are melted (if they get too hot the varnish melts) but I doubt it, the rear window is seldom used so I bet it just needs a thorough cleaning.

I'm lazy now, I'd just buy it from Scuderia, but

When I was younger and valued my time less, I wouldn't have hesitated to dig in, this is a simple assembly.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the tardiness in coming back to you all.

The motor was completely burned out and had fried the electronics with it so the old one was completely dead. After much searching i found one at a breakers and bought that. All working fine now and the car is now watertight.

Thanks

Gaz
