2006 Bentley Flying Spur owner
Check engine light has been on just hours after buying the car.
Two mechanics specializing in Bentleys give me different readings on the codes
The one who seems to be more trust worthy tell me I need a new vacume harness and that 95% of the codes indicate a leak. He wants $10K
My concern and wonder is that the car idles and runs really great
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Might be worth getting you hands on a smoke machine and test the vacuum lines to check if there is a leak. Cracked vacuum hoses are common on W12s. What codes are coming up? If it is the hoses, change them to metal, should last longer than the standard ones. Also double check your car, it might be a late model one where the lines are no longer over the gearbox so not an engine out job. If it is the late model version (2006/2007 onwards) then you might be able to do it by removing the steering rack. Not really sure when the Flying Spurs line layout was revised but I know it was around late 2006 onwards for the GTs.

The 1st spur was 2006 in usa and none of them have lines above transmission. Its very likely that you have a vacuum leak. most develop around 70-75k miles on the spur.t can be fixed by removing the steering rack.
