New to me Supersport
As the title reads we just bought a 2011 GTC Supersport with 21,500km on the ODO. Hopefully talk deliver next week if everything goes smooth. We look forward to modding it a little bit, maybe an exhaust upgrade
What are the mods that everyone is doing on Bentleys? This is our first one so we are really looking forward to it!

That's a really pretty car.
I don't think this is the answer you're looking for, but really, the car doesn't need mods. Aside from the Infotainment, which is really of poor quality, I don't think you really will get your money's worth out of much. You can change the exhaust, but the stock exhaust isn't bad at all and making it louder probably won't be as pleasurable as you think it will be; I have an earlier model and if you put it in "Stupid" Mode ("S") the dampers open and it will set off car alarms.
I'd do an infotainment and speaker upgrade, I doubt you have room for a subwoofer, but if so that is a worth it's weight in Bentley.
If you absolutely positively have to mess about with it, you can get a software change and remap, some guys swear by them, I think they don't do much more than lower your gas mileage, which is pretty bad as it is. Honestly, an extra 40 hp won't make a difference in your life, this thing gets up and rocks and rolls when you put your foot to it already.
Congrats on the car, let us know what you end up doing to it. Maybe I'm too lame and others have better ideas. I have a 2005 and honestly I love it stock, not on purpose, I just don't feel anything is missing, which is totally different than my earlier cars. Only other car I felt like this with was the Lotus Esprit; I didn't want to change a single thing on that car, it was perfect, if unreliable.
But my earlier Mustang GTs needed all the help they could get, better brakes, shocks, suspension, tires, just simple stuff wasn't good enough for the power. But the Bentley seems to have it balanced pretty well.

Thanks for the detailed response British!
we just received it last night and went for a very short drive and loved it. Today I’m getting it insured and plated. In that short drive I did feel like it needs and exhaust, I will listen to some videos to get a better feel for what it can sound like. The question is would or should I get the mide pipe silencer replacement exhaust or just do a cat back? I’m not interested in having a check engine light on the dash.
I was looking at the VelocityAP ECU tune as it comes with a handheld flashing tool, it says it gives 700hp and 750tq which is a big bump for $2500 CAD. Does anyone have feedback on this tune?

Where are you located? My independent does a LOT of custom high-end exotic exhaust work if you're in the Midwest. If not, then the Youtube videos are a great way to go. This crowd on this forum is not heavily into mods so you may not get a lot of responses.
Some like the ECU tunes, but honestly when I put mine in "S" mode I can't really see how more hp is going to make a difference in my life. Your mileage might vary, but as I'm sure you're aware, the "Instantly gain 200 hp" claims are generally hooey if you try to find actual dyno results before and after. You'd think if these things were so amazing that the dyno tests would be everywhere but many just talk the talk.
I think you can squeeze some more hp out of remapping, the engine seems pretty bulletproof so upping the boost a bit and changing the timing should make a noticeable difference. I don't know if "difference" is going to be "better", I'd do some research to find folks who have done the mod. Not an expert, just saying make sure buyer beware on this stuff. Don't mean to be lame, but sometimes we find well-engineered items that don't have obvious needs for improvement. The engine on this beast is one of them; although I'm assuming you have the 12 cylinder W-12, if you have the eight, then I have zero idea, I'm not partial to the eight tbh. I made fun of some guy's eight-cylinder on here and he blew a gasket, which I found amusing.
Search these forums, I know there are a couple of older threads on ECU tuning, I don't remember any on exhaust upgrades, but that's worth searching too.

Other than infotainment and ecu remaps, lowering links are a common and easy mod. From a reliability perspective stainless vacuum lines on the gen1 also. Easy aesthetics are rear spoilers, wheels and spacers.

Hello @RHYNO ,
Congratulations !!
As far as mods, I think you have the NAIM for Bentley audio system in the vehicle, as I believe I see the NAIM emblem on the rear NAIM subwoofer between the rear seats, I installed the NAIM system in my rebuild, the sound is more detailed and clean, along with much more wattage over standard system, 300ish watts vs 1100 watts, I think you may be happy with the sound as is.
As far as exhaust, the main cats and associated o2 sensors are located right off the turbos, so removing the secondary cats and resonators at the midsection will not cause any check engine light, as all monitoring is done upstream from the secondaries.
I installed the AWE Supersports exhaust system on my GT, my rebuilt GT now has a complete drive train from a 2011 GT Supersports, so the SS engine, SS ECU'S, SS Quick Shift transmission, SS Instrument cluster, etc. stock is 621-HP 590-TQ, with the AWE Supersports exhaust it is now 646-HP and 647-TQ, and to be honest, it is a beast !
The exhaust sounds beautiful, I have the complete system from the flex pipes back, right now I have the straight pipe setup installed, I haven't tried the x-pipe yet, but will soon.
I will post some videos of the exhaust, but, mine will be a bit louder then just installing the AWE system, because I used big daddies sim if you know what I mean.
You can lower the vehicle to a certain extent with the Ross-Tech VCDS, but as others said, lowering links are simple, I did both.

I have not read about being able to lower the car via VCDS, is there a guide to this somewhere?

Thanks for all the input!
she is at an exhaust shop today getting the secondary cats removed, I’m hoping this will be enough for sound.
trying to order the shifter dust cover as mine is broken. I ordered one on eBay and emailed saying they won’t ship to Canada. I found it on another site for more money but ran into the same issue. The search continues.

I found another option on eBay and ordered it but it won’t arrive until the end of the month.
next issue I ran into is I’m missing the wheel lock bolt for the wheels, I ended up buying a kit online that has all the sizes. Hope to have the Bentley back tmrw with the wheels balanced and cats removed!

I ended up removing the two middle cats out of the exhaust, it makes the car a tiny bit louder. I was hoping for more sound but I’m not going to spend thousands on an exhaust system. Also got the wheels balanced and she now rides nice and smooth!

Out of curiosity I decided to weigh the cats I just removed as I thought they were pretty heavy, they ended up being 17 pounds. The new pipe that’s welded into its place weighs about a pound so I just got a 16 pound weight savings!

One of the things about a turbo car is that by virtue of it being turbo, and with the Bentley having such big turbines, the exhaust system is almost an afterthought; the turbos take an enormous amount of energy out of the exhaust stream just by placing a turbine wheel between the cylinders and the outside world. A lot of the time at very low rpm, the turbos don't do that much, but there isn't much sound there, our engines do have the deep idle sound. But once you get on it, there is the "whoosh" of escaping air from the waste gates which might take time to get used to, but the turbos are extracting energy (read: sound) from the exhaust stream.
You can run some turbo cars with no muffler at all, the turbo is the muffler.
I'm not surprised you didn't get a huge change in sound from the cat delete (by the way, those things are worth some real money, don't scrap) because when I put it in "S" for Stupid mode, it bypasses part of the muffler and that doesn't make it too loud to live with, which I think it would if the exhaust manifold were just straight-piped to the muffler.
Many of the sweetest sounding engines, like some Lamborghinis and Ferraris do it "normal aspirated". Once you put a turbo between the exhaust manifold and the tailpipe, I think you're amazing sound might not be what you want it to be, 12 cylinders or not.
