Need tire advice please

Hello all,
am newbie here. I recently acquired a 2015 GTC speed with 8300 miles. Tires are original Pirelli summer tires, made third quarter of 2014. Though in apparent good condition was thinking to update and since I live in the northeast now am considering some high performance all season tires. Can you all make some recommendations and also suggested tire pressures…… the manual and door jam say 48lbs but that sounds awfully high to me
Many thanks
Dr. Mike

I'm curious as to what you'll hear about this as well. My car is ten years older, so we may have different specs. When I bought mine my tires were really cracked and dry, the car drifted all over the road. My mechanic suggested new ones, I was wary since they had a ton of tread left, but I finally pulled the trigger because they were noisy too. I bought 275/40ZR-19 MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4S

And they are Summer only tires. They don't even have a rating in rain or snow. I actually talked to the tire guy about how bad they really were in rain and snow and he was funny about it…"They don't even have a rating…at all. None. They are not good at that."

And…I drive my car all seasons, and lol, he's right, they are terrible in the snow and rain, but absolutely great the rest of the time, very, very quiet, and the car tracks perfectly now, my tires really were terrible before, I didn't know that it could make that much of a difference.

Anyway, I would like to switch out to a more snow-friendly tire (I'm in Chicago) in the winters, but I never quite knew what to get. Our choices are limited due to the weight of the car.

I decided on the Michelin over the Pirelli most guys buy because everyone says they are loud. I hate road noise and I wanted quiet tires.

I still use them in the snow and rain, they're just not good. But the car is so heavy and with AWD it does just fine.

Man those Pirelli’s are loud as hell! I only use them because they’re run flats and I can’t put a spare in my trunk. I to have towing with my insurance so I just might try the Michelin’s next yr.

tires

Yeah my door jam says 48. I ran them once at that pressure and got terrific highway mileage. However
the ride was very hard and I think I may have bent the front tires just a bit (according to the dealer who wanted
me to buy two new wheels at $3000 each). There's no discernible symptoms of bent wheels.

I run the tires now at around 32-36 (21 inch wheels on my 2013 GT).
