2014 Bentley Flying Spur Rear Entertainment not working.
Hi everyone. I recently purchased a 2014 Flying Spur, and noticed that the rear seat entertainment or the lights on the picnic tables don’t work. I checked the fuses and they are good. The battery also dies every 2 days when I don’t have the maintainer on. I took it to the dealership and they said that this was the cause for the car’s battery to be drained every one or two nights. They are quoting me $6,000 to replace and continue diagnostics. Why do you think the rear TV’s or the picnic table lights don’t work? Everything else seems to be working perfect in the back. Thanks in advance!

Service Campaign EA98 - Rear Entertainment
Did the dealership reference the attached service Campaign? Unfortunately, Bentley requires a working system before this service can be performed. I attempted to attach the User manual, in case you did not have it, but system rejected the 1.2Mb file. Our RSE is not currently working and I have not pursued getting it sorted, since the grandkids haven't been in the vehicle! Good luck and keep us posted.

What year Spur do you have? Do you have the same issue? The dealership just contacted me yesterday. They are saying that the battery drain is coming from the touch screen remote in the rear. The car is constantly searching for that remote even after the car is off and locked.

We have a 2014 FS with rear entertainment. The remote functions work, except for the RSE icon, which is visible but greyed out. I replaced both batteries to address issues with prematurely draining, as both were at or near time to replace. We keep it on the charger and no issues since. I purchased the Audi equivalent batteries, but suspect a Volkswagen dealer may have them, as well. Used VAG parts to avoid dealer blaming batteries for electrical issues.

Same here. It is greyed out on the remote. The vanity mirror lights on the picnic tables do not work either. This is exactly my situation. There are new batteries which I just replaced in September and it keeps dying so I have it on the maintainer now.

If you are experiencing battery drain in a couple of days with new batteries, then that is different. We have forgotten to reconnect the charger and it did not drain the battery after 3-4 days. I keep it connected for peace of mind! Also, the vanity mirror lights on the picnic tables are working. Does your charger maintain a green light (charged)? I very seldom see the charger below full charge (green light); only for short periods after forgetting to connect it.

It takes a couple hours for the charger light to turn green. Initially it’s either on the second or third stage with orange. What is it lime for yours?
