No “Jack Mode” on my 07 Continental GTC
#16
Here is what the car looks like before start and after it is running.
This is just sitting in the car with the key in my lap
This is once the car is running.
That check engine is for running lean in bank one and two as well as some air piece on the front. I’ve already ordered that replacement but not sure about the lean codes

Hello @Matzuk ,
To put your mind at ease, I highly doubt that the wire is there as a "jumper" to fool anything, or to keep something from not showing in the DIS (Driver Information Screen), it is most likely for an added on aftermarket accessory, you do not show the front of the vehicle, so a question, are the headlights original, as others here have installed aftermarket LED headlights and ran a wire just like that for the DRL, or is there a radar detection system installed, or any other multi media options ?
As to the yellow circle of the vehicle at the top of the DIS is hard to make out, is it showing arrows as a roof fault, or is it the suspension jack mode symbol ?
The lean codes on both banks is almost 100% from vacuum lines leaking, false air from the leaks equals lean.
Please edit your profile to add your location, some like myself may come to you to help, I am in NJ, I have both Ross-Tech VCDS and ODIS VAS 5054 to scan and test.

The yellow circle is the top fault light. I do not think there are aftermarket headlights on the car and I haven’t seen anything that looks aftermarket anywhere on the car. I did find, on the driver side of the top mechanism, a 12 volt lightbulb with electrical tape and it appeared to be wired to something else. I am assuming this is the top micro switch or potentiometer and someone rigged this up to make the top continue to work without replacing which ever switch went bad. I can only imagine what else has been rigged on this thing. I am in VA so I appreciate the offer, but I’m not near you. I just bought the car from a guy in Queens and drive it back. It runs good but I’m starting to wonder wha I’ve gotten myself into.
I didn’t show a front photo because the bumper looks so bad. Will replace once I get all of the mechanical the way it’s suppose to be.

Is there a vacuum kit I can look into purchasing so I can get an idea what they cost? As well as get the parts together to make the replacement once the rack is out? Thanks again, really appreciate the feedback.

I do not understand what you mean by "vacuum kit", there is no kit to buy, you will make up your own metal lines (tubing) with some cloth rubber hoses for the ends, or just rubber hose, but a good solid firm non collapsible (sucked closed) thick wall hose, and do not for whatever you do, do not use worm gear hose clamps, use the factory style Oetiker clamps, as others here have found that they had to do the job all over again because the worm gear style clamps cut right into the rubber hose cutting it in half...
Just a note, if you went to Bentley today to order all the plastic vacuum lines for replacement, you would receive the same exact plastic lines as used on your vehicle when built, they may have added some additional foil wrap for heat shielding, but they are the same plastic lines pressed over barbed tee fitting conditions, which is no good.
Unless you meant a smoke machine for testing, by the term "vacuum kit".

Johnny, just to confirm with you.. Whenever I need to put my Bentley in Jack Mode, I should have it raised all the way up prior to pressing the two buttons? I haven't done that before.
Matzuk, you seem like a knowledgeable guy with vehicles, so I'm sure you'll figure everything out. This forum is great for advice, especially when you provide all of the necessary information and pictures regarding your particular model. Judging by the pictures of the tint on your back glass and the condition of your front bumper, perhaps the previous owner wasn't the best at keeping your Bentley up to the same standard as you'd like? But that obviously doesn't mean you've purchased a bad car!

@xclens ,
No, it is not necessary to put the suspension system into lift mode first, it's just what I always do, as I only use jack mode when I put the vehicle on a lift, or using a floor jack, why else would someone use jack mode, even when testing for leaks, one puts the system into lift mode, then jack mode.

Hey guys, so I haven’t been able to get the car back on a scanner, I have looked at the vcds systems to buy and I am so confused by the different options, I don’t know what to do. So maybe I am a car guy a little bit but I am totally foreign to a Bentley. I have all of the replacement parts I know I need at this time… is it going to totally mess the car up, if I put it on a lift, all four wheels off the ground, to change out the parts I need to change? Is there a trick I can do to make sure I don’t ruin what I do have while fixing these bad parts? I am very hopeful for these suspension repairs so I don’t want to mess anything else up before hand. Thank you so much for all of your feedback and responses.
