No “Jack Mode” on my 07 Continental GTC
Hello everyone, I am a new bentley owner and am having some issues with my new to me, GTC. Let me start by saying that I love the car, it truly is a work of art but it is definitely a handful trying to get all of the little things right on it. So I have ordered a ton of parts for it, all of the filter changes, new control arms, sway bars, rack and pinion, brakes and rotors.. I think you get the point. Lol. Anyway, so we are all ready to start servicing this car and bringing it back to life and I try to put it into “Jack Mode” and the car does not respond. I did what the manual said to do as well as watched a few Utubes on it. Any idea why that would not be working? Air suspension seems to be holding ok, the two front shocks are only a week or so old? I am afraid to lift it if I cannot get it in jack mode. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello @Matzuk ,
First off, Welcome to 6speedonline !
As to the suspension jack mode, have you pressed the right side vehicle height button and turned the rotary **** to the right for the highest setting, does the DIS then display "highest level reached", then press both buttons to activate jack mode, how is the charge and health of the house battery (left side) ?
Also, while you are replacing the steering rack, I would suggest that you take care of any vacuum leaks in the lines along the firewall.

When I press the vehicle height button, nothing happens at all. That screen doesn’t pop up, only the shock control. I have read that the rack and pinion can be done without removing the engine, is that correct as far as you know? Are those vacuum lines easily accessible when the rack is out? Thanks so much for your response

@Matzuk ,
You will need a scan for the suspension control module, I suggest Ross-Tech VCDS.
As to the 2007 vacuum line setup vs the 2004-06 setup, they all still have the vacuum lines at the firewall/bulkhead along the steering rack, the difference with your 2007 is that the lines and solenoids are no longer on top of the transmission, they are at the rear of the intake manifold, but steering rack area vacuum lines still remain an issue for all years.
The small vacuum line circuit at the steering rack area is serviceable at each side, but the large vacuum line circuit with connections at both side of the center as seen in my video, are really not reachable for either side, unless you have super skinny rubber Gumby arms...

@Matzuk
do you have vcds to scan for errors ?
if yes - what are the errors if any.
have it been working earlier and now you have no option to manipulate with height? or you dont know if it ever worked?
if it stopped working now - have you done in the car anything which could be the cause of air suspension issues?

I just bought the car and drove it 400 miles home. I hadn’t noticed it before until yesterday when we went to put it on the lift and start swapping parts. My air suspension seems to be working fine, not sagging in the front or anything. I can change the comfort settings but cannot even access the screen for ride height.

You have rosstech cable and vcds? If not - can you get a local workshop guy to scan the car for you. This is required starting point.
Share the logs here - maybe we will conclude smth from the log.

I do not have any warning lights on except a top fault. The top works great, up and down no problem. It just doesn’t seem to know that it has completed the cycle whether it’s up or down.

The car is already level, suspension seems to be working. But when I press the ride height button, nothing happens. Nothing comes up on the screen or anything. Which is why I feel like it won’t go into jack mode. Almost like the car isn’t recognizing the ride height button being pressed. Is there any other way to Jack the car without it being in jack mode?

He has no "Jack Mode", nor can he lift the vehicle to it's highest level (vehicle raised for ground clearance) by way of pressing the vehicle level button on the right side.
Also, Sazam, I am reading your PM next, be back to you soon.
@Matzuk ,
I would be checking the electrical connection for those switches on the bottom side of the switch panel, or checking the the switch itself has full motion and feedback through your finger as to actually clicking as pressed, it could be a sticky switch from spillage of some sort, coffee/soda...

@Matzuk ,
One thing to keep in mind, as you are doing all the suspension (control arms), I assume that you are doing the upper control arms also, therefore you will be removing the strut airbag assembly, so in reality, you don't need to use jack mode, simply because you will be removing the air line from each strut, and the jack mode actually serves two purposes, the main reason for jack mode is for when you are changing a flat tire on the side of the road, when you jack up one corner to change out the flat tire WITHOUT jack mode engaged, the vehicle may shift and the jack may fall over, because the suspension control module sees that another corner is low, while the corner you are jacking is high, and it tries to adjust, been there did that, forgot jack mode on a rainy night with a flat on my A8L W12, the vehicle moved and the cheap Audi jack fell over sideways having the vehicle land on my leg, thankfully I had the spare under the side of the vehicle, so I didn't get fully pinned.
The second part of jack mode is for when you lift the vehicle on a lift, and let all four wheels hang, by having jack mode engaged the system will NOT release all of the air as it normally would if jack mode was off, as when it is off, the system sees the vehicle is too high when on the lift, therefore it releases the air to try and lower the vehicle, then when you lower the vehicle, it falls to the ground because the struts are depleted of air, whereas jack mode keeps the air in the struts and system, as it is locked out, BUT, since you are removing each strut to replace the upper control arms, you are going to remove all of the air anyway.
My GT sat for years with no air or power, when I installed everything and powered the vehicle up, I just had to lift the vehicle to a certain height to get the system to activate, because when it is bottomed out, the system also shuts down.

So my buddy put his Autel scanner on the car and all kinds of faults came up. Even though the only light on is the orange check engine and the top fault light on the info screen. Before I could dig into the codes anymore he erased them. But it was showing all kinds of faults in the system. I just bought the car and am maybe now thinking it wasn’t as clean as I thought. The seller had just supposedly installed two new air struts in the front, I knew it needed some maintenance and work but am starting to think he may have not been totally honest with me. So I was looking in the fuse panel under the steering wheel and noticed some sort of jumper wire in there and heading out to something and am wondering if someone did something to throw off the info screen to not give me any of the check engine or warning lights I should be getting. Hence why the ride height doesn’t work, maybe it’s all over ridden somehow? I’ll attach a picture below.
See the jumper wire in the bottom left?
