Bentley Continental GT - Company Comfort Databus in Single Wire Fault
Hi all,
I am working through problems with my vehicle and trying to interpret the logs from the scan to see if there is a common factor or starting point linking the problems and am hoping that some of you extremely knowledgeable people will be able to help.
The background is a repeated flat left hand battery which was partially due to lack of use and was then made much worse with cold weather. Initially the starter battery always worked when using the key but then both batteries died and I was unable to access the boot / trunk to charge. When I eventually managed to get into the car and start charging several faults were found on the scans and whilst investigating I found that the wheel well was full of water from a blocked drain in the lid.
The main issue now is that the boot / trunk will not operate properly and will not lock, even when closed manually, and just pops back open. The other most noticeable faults are the rear view camera and NAIM sound system not working.
This brings me to the reason for this post. Whilst reading multiple threads of other users issues and looking at the advice given I am lead to think the problems are related but are more likely a result of the battery issues and not necessarily due to the water ingress.
Looking back the first problem I noticed, many months ago, was the drivers door handle not locking with the touch sensor. The scan shows this as a short to ground and, after all the reading on other issues, this has got me wondering if this is the root cause of the problems. Could this be causing the battery drain and ultimately the canbus / databus single wire faults?
I have replaced the left hand battery this weekend and the scan below is with the new battery.
I have also tried to re-code the 07 control head and it says the code has been accepted but still does not show it on the screen.
Could someone please point me in the right direction to try and get to the bottom of these issues.
