Power steering pump GT V8S 2015

Hi All,

unfortunately need to report another issue I had on my 2015 GT V8. My steering wheel is super heavy and have no assistance from the pump. I still have fluid so I assume it’s the pump 100%?? When I open the reservoir cap fluid is at the correct level but is still (not moving) although I try to move the steering wheel…..

considering most probably it’s the pump that need to be replaced does anyone know the part number? Also to replace I’m very worried it’s an engine out job? The part seems burried in the middle of the engine…. Any idea?

might it be the steering rack? Not convinced as before losing power steering I heard strange noises from the engine bay….that might be the pump starting to go…

starting to get a bit annoyed as the car is well maintained has only 38000 miles and I have already spent loads of money and time to maintain in the last 12 month (steering wheel vibrations-full front suspension replaced that btw didn’t solve the problem, coolant leak-thermostat replaced not sure solved the issue, water leaks in rear spare wheel area and now power steering wheel which I fear is a major job…..)

Morning All,

found the part number for the power steering pump being 3W0 422 154 J. Unfortunately it costs GBP 1,000......but the thing that worries me is how to replace....is this definitely an engine out job?

Please let me know if you have had a similar experience

thanks!
