BMW M3vert steering wheel vibrating at 70mph + ?

Hey guys i just got my car rims fixed cause two of them were bent. Anyways when i am driving in my car above 70mph and faster the steering wheel vibrates which i think is quite annoying. The inpsection guy at the gas station said my 19" rims were too big. Is this true cause he checked the alignment and balancing, and concluded that it was my rims that were making my car shake. Is this true for you guys with 19"s ?

well, hes right about the rims being the problem but as said, its definitely a bad wheel balance...if it continues after, then the bent wheel was not fixed appropriately...

The guy at the gas station?

Gas station? 19" wheels? What's wrong with this picture?
Get to a proper whee/ tire shop. When are folks going to learn that making this stuff right is more than a matter of bolt on?

its either a problem with a bent rim, an unbalanced wheel, or disalignment

Wheel alignment is dispositive to vibration....

I'll bet you an adult beverage that it's: 1. an out of round wheel, bent or other runout problem 2) an out of round tire, or other runout problem with it, or 3) a combination of the two. Doesn't anyone in your area do on car balancing? Get to a good shop!

no, your not paranoid...its really annoying and I am very sensative to this stuff...I would say your rim is still bent...Im going through this right now aswell...told the dealer to do ANYTHING to get it to go away as I do tons of 80 plus highway stuff and it bothers the hell out of me...

that inspection failier is bull****...seriously...if they are stock, you are 100 percent fine...the only rims that can incure a falier are centerlocks...which I am assuming your car doesnt have...(unless you race it on the weekends...haha) Also, dealers charge what they will based on who does the work, I dont go through a dealer for that stuff mostly (when I had bent rims, it was from 1.5 feet of air in the porsche and that was not obv taken care of by a dealership)
