Deleted Thread? (M3 vs. Z4M Coupe)
My thread titled "Keep my ZCP M3 or get a Z4M Coupe?" has apparently been deleted. Does anyone know what happened?
Did I do something wrong?

.
Here was my original post:
I currently have a 2005 E46 Competition (ZCP) M3. I really like the car but I can’t help but look at the 2007 M coupes. The idea of a more focused, performance-oriented car really appeals to me.
But, at the end of the day, this is really a numbers game for me. I am not willing to take a huge hit on the M3. I figure it is work ~$42.5K on a trade (only has 11,500 miles and is loaded with everything except for the SMG transmission).
I am not sure if many of you are aware, but BMW is currently offering a $7,500 incentive to dealers. This incentive + the $4K between invoice and MSRP equates to $11,500 off. Some people have gotten anywhere from $11,000 to $13,000+ off MSRP on 2007 Coupes.
The coupe I am looking at stickers for $57,320 making the final price less than $46K. If I can get $42.5K for my M3 we’re only talking about a <$3,500 difference.
The question is, will the M Coupe be worth more than my M3 2-3 years from now when it’s time for another car? I know cars are NEVER investments but one could be a better investment (less depreciation/loss) than another.
I am just trying to think out loud ... What do you guys think? What would you do?

Oh, okay. I was not aware there was an internal problem. Should I just start the thread over?
I'm sitting here thinking I broke some rule or pissed off a Mod or something.

well to start this thread again. i think the Z4m is a way more fun car to drive than an e46. its smaller and has more grunt to it. ive driven both. but the m3 can be a daily driver which the z4 uhhhhhhh....... my z4m is sucha ***** to drive everyday. but i love taking it to the track and on the weekends. so this is a question of do you want a fast daily driver or a nimble track/weekend 2 seater

really, could you elaborate? I was actually considering selling my E46 M3 for a Z4M, and it would be daily driven.

And here was one of my original follow-up posts:
Thanks for the feedback guys! I have an appointment at my dealer on Friday, so I'll get a chance to go for a drive and really discuss the numbers then. As far as the trade-in value goes on my M3, I did one of those online appraisal things at my dealers website and it came up with $42,700, I didn’t just make the number up.
The Competition M3 is really a gem, but like some of you said, an M Coupe at ~$46K is hard to pass up … especially when the warranty/maintenance plan will last until 2011 (exactly 2 years more than my M3).
If I need to spend $4K now but 2 years from now the M Coupe is worth $5K more than my M3 would be, I am ahead $1K. The only problem is that know one can accurately predict the market 2 years from now. From the looks of it, E46 M3 values are going down hill but the ZCP's that I've seen for sale are doing much better than the rest. I guess the real enthusiasts who are in the market for an E46 M3 want one with the competition package. Between that, the amount of options, and the low mileage, I would assume I have a pretty desirable car.

Get the Z4M...... I drive my buddies M3 and my M coupe back to back quite often and there is no comparsion between the too. You get all the best parts of the M3 but in lighter, smaller and more nimble chassis!
